Al Gore Admits CO2 Does Not Cause Majority Of Global Warming
#1
(Should this be in the Politics section or the Religion section or here?)

Can this possibily be true? -

Al Gore Admits CO2 Does Not Cause Majority Of Global Warming

From the article:
Quote:In a new development that is potentially devastating to the agenda to introduce a global carbon tax and a cap and trade system, Al Gore admits that the majority of global warming that occurred until 2001 was not primarily caused by CO2.

Before we get too excited, Gore is not backing away from his support for the theory of man-made climate change, but his concession that carbon dioxide only accounted for 40% of warming according to new studies could seriously harm efforts to tax CO2, that evil, life-giving gas that humans exhale and plants absorb.

...

As Andrew Bolt writes in today’s Australian Herald Sun, his flip-flopping “Suggests not only that was Gore wrong to claim the science was “settled”, but that the hugely expensive schemes to “stop” warming by slashing carbon dioxide emissions will be less than half as effective as claimed.”

and

Quote:Gore now blames soot and methane for the majority of global warming, leaving the door open for a tax on livestock, a tax on meat, a tax on milk, and on and on until he changes his mind again and blames another culprit so that too can be taxed.

Yeah, so much for "the science is settled", that's for sure.

Moreover, "less than half as effective as claimed" may prove to be the same as "more trouble than it is worth".

but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Maybe now Gore will get a second Nobel Prize for blaming soot, and a third Nobel Prize for blaming methane.

Will wonders never cease. Maybe he figures he has made enough off of the hysteria.

We must make our choice between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. My guess is that he sees the eventual end of the tunnel up ahead, and is going to try to get everything he can from it all.

Perhaps both of you are partially correct.

It is worthy of note that this isn't getting much publicity in the MSM, is it not?

I blame Algore hot air for the warming.
If it werent for his speaking, we might be in an ice age by now.

Here's a fairly interesting net documentary about the hockey stick data and the overall propaganda effort of the AGW crowd from the Canadian gentleman who debunked it. One more reason for us Yanks to love our neighbors.

HERE

Here Gore shows his ignorance to the world:

Do you know where I can find the You Tube presentation?

This is not the first time the EPA has silenced internal critics.

Oddly,

it is h e r e.(The Huge Mistake - Climate Change Solutions 2009 )

At least, this appears to be the video in question.

Unfortunately, while what they say may be true regarding Cap & Trade, they still base their "solution" on the concept that CO2 emissions are the problem.

"Carbon Fees with Rebates", while it will move us toward "cleaner" energy, won't necessarily do anything regarding the Climate and it's continuing changes.

And it will be a cold day in Hell when politicians refuse to shake down some and reward others in order to fatten their own power and "speaking fees". So, rebates (returning the $ to taxpayers) are DOA. In addition, rebates can never offset the fact that energy will be much more expensive with the new restrictions.

One way to reduce carbon in the atmosphere would be to use more lead (graphite) pencils. The carbon in them is not returned to the atmosphere, but us recycled in the dust of your house or office or landfill. Thus, the proper move is to ban ball point pens and require use of pencils. S1

You know, there actually are people who take Al Gore seriously.

Wonder how long they will continue to do this?

Al Gore: Earth's Interior 'Extremely Hot, Several Million Degrees'

Quote:CONAN O'BRIEN, HOST: Now, what about ... you talk in the book about geothermal energy...
AL GORE, NOBEL LAUREATE: Yeah, yeah.
O'BRIEN: ...and that is, as I understand it, using the heat that's generated from the core of the earth ...

GORE: Yeah.

O'BRIEN: ...to create energy, and it sounds to me like an evil plan by Lex Luthor to defeat Superman. Can you, can you tell me, is this a viable solution, geothermal energy?

GORE: It definitely is, and it's a relatively new one. People think about geothermal energy - when they think about it at all - in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, 'cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot ...

"Several million degrees", whether F or C, is a "slight" exhaggeration since the consensus (he, he) among scientists is that, at best, the interior of the earth is maybe 5000 degrees C, or could be higher - 9000 C. Slightly less than "several million", but who am I to question a Nobel Laureate? Wait, I can answer that - I am someone who is not telling lies to people around the world in order to become a billionaire. Although I will admit that if that career path had been available to me, I may have gone down it, at least a million or so dollars worth, anyway.

More from the article:

Quote:This raises an obvious question: in a world where media fact-check a comedy skit and a book written by a former governor, shouldn't they equally scrutinize statements being made by a man who's actively pushing for the passage of economically impactful legislation currently before Congress?

Or is that asking too much from so-called journalists?

Geez, tough question. If he means the MSM, it appears to be asking too much.

If the core of the earth were several million degrees, you would have some intermittent fusion reactions going on, like a star. The surface of the sun is only about 5500˚ C. Talk about global warming!

Wow, that's hotter than the interiour of the sun.

As for earth and fusion, not enough mass involved. You will never get fusion out of it.
