Do as I Say, Not As I Do,................Again!

This is self-explainary, don't you think?

Quote:House Orders Up Three Elite Jets

Last year, lawmakers excoriated the CEOs of the Big Three automakers for traveling to Washington, D.C., by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailout of their companies.

But apparently Congress is not philosophically averse to private air travel: At the end of July, the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress.

You talking about that Palin oddity again? Nope. If you fly more than 400 hours per year, a private jet is cheaper than first class. I guess them many top government officials and Members of Congress easily collect 1,200 hours / year between them. The U.S. are quite large.

My question would be -

how much of this travel is required for the job

and how much is personal or non-job related?
I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Where In The HELL did you ever come up with the "Palin" word in all of this? What does an Alaskan governor have to do with Washington?

What are you smoking Komrade? :?:

Why would they log that many hours of flight in a year, when they live in the area that has almost everything they work with in the need to know?

Only a few members of the congress and the White House would need to leave the Capital to meet their responsibilities.

Average trip in time from Washington DC. to Los Angeles is around 7 hours. That mean almost 60 fights in a year to meet the 400 hours line YOU brought up.

By the way it is amusing that you seem to say that these massive over spenders are suddenly concerned about airfare cost?

It might be worth it if Pelosi and Reid got on one that was used as a Submarine experiment.

Do as I say, not as I do, like no underage sex, underage pregancy, drugs, corruption, and no abuse of an office?

Yes tommy, your mathematics are impeccable. If we have 10 people though, it's only 6 flights for each one. Or, if each of the jet does 400 hours per year. I understood that your members of senate and congress represent all states, so I guess they need to commute quite frequently.
