There are lots of signs of people and politicians getting nervous about the overspending: past, present and future.

One example among many.

If Justice Anton Scalia decides that he is not qualified to be president, he will have a double whammy taking him down. Wink1

The Supreme Court already decided NOT to deal with allegations of Obama not being a Natural-born citizen. Kreep's lawsuit was the solidest - and it was dismissed.

The Occidental College allegation was an April Fool's Day Spoof and has also been shot down.

That has already happened. Why do you think our economy and world standing are in the shitter?? It is because the people took 6 years to realize what idiots Bush and the republicans are.

Number one rule of Liberals. Always blame someone else. (Even when it is a lie)

Number two rule. Never accept responsibility. (See Rule number one)

No... those are conservative rules. Haven't you noticed that they are now pretty much blaming almost EVERYTHING on Obama and liberals lately? I have. And I haven't seen any conservatives other than a very few who are accepting responsibility for anything. I would love to see just one of you guys take responsibility for giving us 8 years of GWB.

90%??? Yeah... right... did you pull that out of your backside or do you actually have a source for this? I doubt it.

What?? calling us jackasses isn't enough and now your adding "whores"? Nice to see your still ignoring your own rules and being a dick.

And Obama's "crap" smells like roses to me when you compare it to the right wing crap we have put up with over the last 8+ years.
Anything concerning 'The Muslim' would have top come from out of the backside. S2 To a Liberal 'The Muslims' fecal matter would be ambrosia so no surprise there.

No... I did not admit it is crap. That is why I put quotes around it after Obama and didn't after Bush. I was just quoting John L.

Not true. Bush let the 2001 recession happen by letting his buddies in the energy business screw over California which messed up the whole economy.

WmLambert Wrote:You do remember the deficit was getting smaller and the economy was still expanding under his watch?

Are you insane?? The economy had been declining for over a year before Obama took office and the deficit hit a new high last year. You don't know what your talking about.

WmLambert Wrote:The current economic misery has roots with both parties, but far more to Democrats than Bush. It has been documented pretty thoroughly that you can lay the toxic loan debacle to the Dems, with GOP doing a commendable job of trying to correct what was broken and being blocked by the Dems.

Yeah right.... Both the White house and Congress were controlled by republicans and its mostly the fault of Dems because of one bill that was blocked?? That is just stupid. Bet you didn't know that GOP lobbyists were actually responsible for killing that one bill.

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON - Mortgage giant Freddie Mac secretly paid a Republican consulting firm $2 million to kill legislation that would have imposed new regulations on its lending.

The under-the-radar campaign to sway 17 Republican senators in 13 states worked: the 2005 regulatory overhaul bill sponsored by Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) died from lack of GOP support.

Don't be a hypocrite. Wm hardly ever backs up what he says with any facts and you guys never say a thing about it. Plus... I have learned that it is almost pointless to cite any facts around here because all you guys do is either ignore those facts or attack my sources as biased liars no matter if the facts are true or not.

WmLambert Wrote:Clinton never had a deficit. He paid down the public debt by borrowing against it and not accounting for increased intergovernmental holdings. Official numbers are available here.

His last budget, according to the Treasury Department, measured the public debt at $3.339310T which was down $66.0B from his previous year, but the Inter-government holdings was measured at $2.468153T which was up $199.3B. The Total National Debts was therefore $5.807463T with a deficit of $133.3B.

You just disproved your own statement!!

Well I have to give you some credit. I knew Bush was doing that but I didn't know that was being done under Clinton. But I do have to say that I am skeptical that Clinton was solely responsible considering that republicans were in control of Congress. And if we are going to accept this standard for measuring the debt racked up by presidents then that means that Bush added debt was really about 5.8 trillion instead of 3.9 trillion. Oh... and you actually cited a source!! I'm amazed!!

No, he is not a favorite. Looks to me like he is just another right wing idiot who doesn't know fact from fiction.

Actually I am also nervous about all this spending but think it is needed now to keep us from going into a full blown depression. Now if Obama and the Democrats don't at least start balancing the budget after we get out of this recession then I will be more than nervous.

I seem to remember reading about this very thing going on in the 1930s, and FDR only turned a depression into TWO consecuative depressions. And all because he used the State aparatus to 'end it'. Have you studied that event in our history Buzz?

Thanks for pointing out my typo. It should definitely read that "Clinton never had a surplus." We can all agree that he certainly did have deficits. Of course, that was obvious from the link.

BTW, you can usually find that link in a highlighted color within the post - I rarely break them out separately. If you can't find the links, then set your preferences in your browser to see them.
