What are you listening to?
I'm discouraged today, with all this uproar over The Donald, and I could really use some good news today. I followed Ron here, and somehow wound up at Robert's video by Ann Murray. I believe it really needs to be repeated again, because we all could use a little good news.

I've been going through my Eagles collection, and seeing if there is anything I am missing, such as the ultimate live version of Hotel California. The live version is much, much better than the studio one that everyone is familiar. The best one is "Live At The Capital Center, in Largo, MD, on 3/21/77. I like it better than the 'unplugged' version. I found it right here. Three of the original members, Henley, Frey, and Meisner, were still in the group at that time. Bernie Leadon had left after dumping a can of beer over Glenn Frey's head.

I was trying to run down a couple of their appearances in Lucca, Italy, and went through Youtube videos as well. And it seems that everyone has done a version of it.

And I did find a great rendition by someone else, a Persian version. its really great and beats all the other imitators hands down.

I can just imagine ISIS getting hold of these folks and giving them their reward.

I have one album from 10 or 15 years ago. Glad to see they are still young and fine!
Not my style of music but I confirm they are realy talented. S27

Here's Don Felder, late of the Eagles, who was the principle writer of the song "Hotel California", doing his thing with STYX in 2015. He still has it, like always.

Its interesting to see just how much the rest of the group has aged, and he has maintained his youthful looks. My guess is that he was the least drug happy of the gang.

There's no question, this girl is very talented.  Now, if she would only hurry and grow up, before she destroys herself.

The last time they sang it together. Who doesn't cry when they hear this?

The musical group Celtic Woman has performed "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in several of their concerts. It is included in the 2014 Blu-Ray disc titled, Emerald. Very beautiful, very moving. Most people probably think of Jesus Christ singing a love song to humanity, but I am not sure if that is what Paul Simon intended when he wrote it.

By the way, does anyone know why Máiréad Nesbitt has parted company with Celtic Woman? She frolicked on the stage playing her violin flawlessly for ten years, since the very beginning of Celtic Woman. Now in their Voices of Angels concert, they have another violinist. I will miss Nesbitt. She was so delightful!

I was finally able to answer my own question. Here is what Wickipedia says:

Quote:On May 4, 2016, Nesbitt announced she was recording a new solo album, Hibernia, in August 2016.[11]

On July 11, 2016, Nesbitt announced she would be launching her own line of violins called Celtic Violins by Máiréad Nesbitt Celtic Violinist. Nesbitt also announced she would be using a new violin alongside her 17th century Matthias violin on upcoming projects, including on Hibernia.[12]

On August 7, 2016, it was announced that Nesbitt would be stepping away from Celtic Woman to focus on working on her own projects.
