Europe's new 'strict' policy on terrorists: Just let 'em go
#21
Still looking, but here is a mild substitute version: [url=http://www.cbc.ca/cp/world/050716/w071638.html]CBC Canada/url]

Quote:In the absence of an extradition treaty with Britain, Maher Abdel Wahed said the rule would be "quid pro quo"-reciprocal treatment - or diplomatic courtesy. His remarks were carried by Egypt's Middle East News Agency.

Abdel Wahed didn't elaborate. However, since the 1990s Egypt has repeatedly appealed to Britain to hand over wanted Egyptians living in Britain on asylum status or having British citizenship. London has rejected the calls on the grounds that Egypt applies capital punishment, and in view of its human rights record, which activists say includes the systematic use of torture.

What I saw yesterday was more specific.
Government is necessary because people left unchecked will do evil.

The government is composed of people left unchecked

something like that. from the buzz i hear, his name is synonymous with Hitler, so that is probably a good thing.

He is a senator.

I thought he was from the House, not the Senate.

Representative, not Senator.

Generally, he is into illegal immigration (that is stopping of...); this gives him high name recognition. Apparently considering running in '08. Smart guy, I heard him give interviews a few times.

A couple of days ago he suggested that if AQ actually smuggles nukes into the US, Mecca might mushroom too.

(This is, incidentally, a big international scandal right now--in case you missed).

Did not hear about his relations with Hitler, but it is certainly coming soon...

CAIR on Tancredo

WashPost: US and Turkey condemn Tancredo

Tancredo: No Apology

Obviously, here we see a tree, and not a bush....

I like the guy. He is certainly worth watching.

I also liked:
Quote:"Tancredo's statements go against the very message America is trying to send to the world, that the war against terrorism is not a war on Islam," Dean said. "Remarks threatening the destruction of holy sites akin to the Vatican or Jerusalem do nothing to win the hearts and minds of Muslims in the United States and abroad."
Idiot or worse.

Who is the idiot? Tancredo? Threatening the bombing of a city like that, is good deterrence in keeping others from bombing ours.

Sorry for appearing cryptic. The idiotic statement was Dean's. If the statement reflects his own convictions, he is an idiot. If he is smarter than that (he is MD, after all, he had to learn something), then it is worse.
