Airport Berlin Tempelhof closed for good
The iconic Berlin airport, the world's largest back in the 20s and 30s, the worlds first airport city with hotels, shops and restaurants closed it's doors yesterday. For a while, the semicircle terminal was also the world's largest building by volume and floor space. Famous also as the destination of the Berlin air bridge in the good ole cold war days.

Tempelhof's area is almost the same as New York's Central Park, and with the same function for Berlin's climate, it probably stays green. The main building and hangars might become film-studios, Babelsberg advertises the idea with the slogan 'Filmhafen Tempelhof' (Flughafen is German for airport). Berlin's new airport becomes Berlin-Brandenburg at the city's South-East. It's the former East Berlin airport Schoenefeld greatly enlarged.
