Yeah ... last year it was about a half a foot of snow on Mother's day ... this time maybe 2". I threw the dice and have peas, spinach, cilantro, and lettuce coming up. So far, the low is pegged for only near 32F or so ... so some of it might manage to survive. The real problem is going to be the flooding. It's been raining for about a week straight (and we live in a desert BTW) ... followed by about a week of earlier rain ... everything is completely saturated. Unlikely to be as bad or deadly as two years ago but it's within a hair's breadth of being really bad. My wife ended up driving through water that was over running a creek (that never runs over ... this is in a suburban neighborhood BTW) this morning that scared the hell out of her.

We're miles from the St. Vrain river, but this is part of or very near the same drainages that killed people two years ago. If there is an unexpected cloud burst, there is some major damage in store.

My internet is also getting rrreeeallllyyy s....l...o...w ... as the water is beginning to penetrate connectors and cables around here.

I realize that flooding and what we like to call 'weather' in general doesn't seem directly related to the global warming ... or cooling topic ... but apparently it is ... not really in the 'science' sense ... but more in the way of the 'extortion' sense.

As tremperatures is rising, there is more water in the atmosphere and more rains.

Two weeks of rain and you think it's bad...? You'v never lived in northern Europe, did you?

Yes fred, the AGW 'logic' ... rising temperatures bring ... more snow ... (??). Two weeks of rain is normal for many places, but not in this area. Here it means flooding ... and flooding is bad. The snow is mostly melted and all I've suffered are a few broken limbs (the trees are all leafed out ... which is bad when it snows). Hopefully we'll dry out and get back into something resembling spring next week.

If there is more rain, there is also more snow when the wheather is cooler. And it's cooler localy because of more water in the atmosphere where clouds gather.

Not necessarily Fred. Just because there is more rain, is only part of the equation. First, the planet must cool down a little here, and a little there, causing more water to drop out of the sky in areas where it becomes frozen, and doesn't melt the next spring/summer cycle.

From all indications, this is about to begin happening again.

Some really good data here:

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/05/12/22...te-truths/

57% of all human CO2 production in the industrial age has happened just since 1997, yet our temperatures have not increased since then?

In some geological periods the CO2 content of the air has been up to 20 times today’s content, and there has been no runaway temperature increase!

There isn't any money to be made by promoting climate change equals a greener world?

The real reason?

Let me explain it very simply. Rich people live on the water. They fear the ocean rising. If nothing else, that alone scares them a lot. They will lose their expensive real estate.

So they want a colder drier world.

Just playing devil's advocate. S6

Do you really believe that? Are you telling me that they fear a "rising tide", so to speak, that will lift all boats a few inches? Somehow, I can see them getting excited over a Rogue Wave, or a mega-tsunami. Now that would definitely ruin their expensive property.

And that is why I am a mountain sort of person. S22

No. I just made it up. I have no idea if rich people even really think global warming is happening. They certainly don't act like they are worried about it.

If anyone would be immune to climate change, it will be the rich.

I really dislike the phrase "climate change", because its a cop-out. Its just one more way for the Statist Left to control the language and hide their real agenda. If you start talking about Real Climate Change, i.e. global cooling, they automatically label you a Climate Denier, and should be punished.
