Political Correctness Vs Common Sense

quadrat Wrote:...It's also appropriate to compare Israel with Arab states and not with us, since too influential a faction of the Jews obviously didn't make the defining step of the development to modern humans yet, that is to care for other human beings rather than for money.
If you really examine all nations, you find that money and power is the corrupting influence of those older cultures locked into third-world status. It is those places where dictators and corrupt regimes line their pockets with relief funds flooding into country that their starving people never receive from those "modern humans" like Israel and the West.

Israel is not successful because of greed, but because of honor and self-purpose. The neighboring Arabs hate the Jews because they took arid, lifeless deserts and breathed life into these regions. The Arabs moved in, squatted on the now fertile land claiming some ancient attachment to lands they never cherished and improved. In almost every instance when Israel, in a vain attempt to gratify the Arabs protests, gave them the improved lands, the squatters ruined them again and blamed the Israelis for their own inadequacies.

I don't think there is another country which receives as much charity from abroad as Israel, the others of course can't whine all the time about a holocaust which took place three generations ago, and the last witnesses of which are kept alive by medical equipment. $ billions each year from Germany and Austria alone, misemployed to maintain the Israeli war machine which cluster bombs Arabian lands to make them unusable. Which gobbles up almost 40% of Israels GDP, what is more than the war spending of all its Arab neighbours combined.
I don't think turning a desert into green land is necessarily a good thing, it's fundamentally not done to benefit people but to make money. There are more ways of life which can make people happy, and I'd prefer the one in which humans adapt to their environment, and not the environment to profit interests. That can't sustain a large population of course, so Arabs had none.
Fundamentally, Humanity doesn't need economic growth.
There is no honour in Israel, a lot of self-centred purpose though.

Besides, the Arabs have unlike the Jews not chosen a way of life based on economic growth and consumption, on greed, but rather on spiritual values. Compared with us, Israel is an impoverished nation, that's Jews of course and we are Germans.
Some of the Arabs however managed the growth and consumption thing, and do it lots better than Israel. What's Israel compared to the wonders of the Emirates, whose buildings dwarf the skyscrapers of China and the U.S.? It's marvelous gardens and luxury exceeding anything on the world? Have a look at this and note the artifical islands in the gulf,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Dubai...dmarks.svg

Unachievable for Israel. Dubai's population has grown twentyfold in 30 years. From a dusty desert village to a city that seems to have arisen from the far future. Here's the skyline of Dubai,

http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?c23

the tallest building of which, probably dwarfing all constructions of Tel Aviv combined, is almost completed.

That's an awsome potential in those Muslims. Wink1

Beautiful satire, Q.
Jefferson: I place economy among the first and important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our choice between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.

Perhaps "Q" can persuade one of those esteemed countries to biuld the world's tallest Whore House, so he will be enticed to visit, and perhaps settle down?

You must be thinking about some "Other Mother". I was waxing poetic about the joys of great technique. Go look for another one "Q".

Here is another reason Not to watch CNN. They are actively creating new, Politically Correct, words in order show how effete they are. The word I am describing is "efforting". There is no such word,.......or there used not to be.

I did a Google of CNN and the word, and came up with the following. These people are nuts.

Quote:1. Efforting

A made up word used only by newscasters to show off that they're doing the job they're paid to do. A poor attempt to make the word ‘effort’ into a verb. To make it sound like something simple is tough to do, so they’re making extra effort. Often used as a stall when a report isn’t ready.

"We’re efforting to get that hurricane report from the beach ready for you."

Besides CNN representing the Corrupt News Network, their Talking Heads have to be some of the poorest speaking of the lot. To wit - Campbell Brown and her mangled vowels. Painful to watch and listen to in the extreme.

I know, I find myself generally watching the network with the hottest babes.

If it's bad news or just the same ol' same ol', I'd prefer it come from a pretty woman at least.

I have tried to follow this thread about Political Correctness, some how it
looks like it may have meandered..I was thinking about all the buzz words
the MSM uses and that this is not Fact reporting..just some journilistic
approch to make it sound better..Like undocumented..verses Illegal workers its all B.S. I cannot watch broadcast news at all..without wrapping
my head in Duct tape..Thes so called Newscasters are as john said..feminised..softened versions of the truth..bordering on outright lies
and mistruths...I have not watched NBC CBS CNN or MSNBC for over
ten years..I got tired of seeing a report of some street crime, where the
victim was stabbed, and they showed a HandGun in the Pip of the Screen..
what a bunch of Crap..I am tired of the Word Police..the Anti-Gun..Anti
Hunting ..Crowd..The Anti-Smoking zealots..The Tree huggers..the Secular
Progressives..That every year Try to Take Christ out of Christmas..Wew
I am out of breath.. Everyday you see or hear reports of some wacko
teacher or Prof..telling such outrageous lies to their charges, its enough
to drive you over the edge..we need to counter these lies with truth..
we need to boycott the Companies that support PC ..and the turncoat
Companies Like General Electric That sell to Iran...If we challanged these
talking heads we would be better for it..I know I cannot express myself
as well as most of you..but I know that the truth will be seen, as the
blinders of lies fall off....Semper FI

Bill, I am with you. The list of PC BS goes on and on, ad nauseum and seemingly ad infinitum. It is not being addressed in this thread, maybe because it is just too much of a constant background noise.

Bill, it's not duct-tape - it's a tin-foil hat that will protect you.

Pols have used honey-soaked jargon for years to win their position in front of the cameras. In the age of technology and science, the focus-groups have added to that. Nowadays, the emotionally-laden clichés and soundbytes take a few seconds to utter - but minutes and more to rebut. Call a person a bigot - and the reputation is damaged, regardless of the truth.

Reagan was a master communicator, because he could defuse the master talking-points with clarity and purpose. Few can match his adroitness on the stump.

Knowing you are right does not win a debate - proving it on points does not either. To move an audience and win a debate, one must inspire as well as speak truth.

In the old MSM - as it has evolved - even inspiring, truthful speakers can lose, because the inspiration is edited out. Brand-naming occurs when products are mentioned enough to become familiar. Quality does not always follow - but purchase are made by brand-name loyalty alone.

Its hard to have honor and purpose when your national identity is a rotting husk of colonialism.

Does being a "religious kook" mean automatically that he is a "right wing" one? Inquiring minds would like to knos Grizz? We would also like to know how you used "reason and logic" to come up with this earth shattering deduction.

I believe it does, JL - I've heard that left wing folks don't have any religion.

But, I could be wrong.
I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Most of them have their own religion, but it's just not the same as others. However, most of these "so called" Religious Right kooks are really Centerists, who want the State to do their bidding for them. Real Right Wingers just want the State to leave things, including themselves, alone.

But like many, the Grizz doesn't know that. I'd have to put a hinge on his skull and pour in the knowledge into his cranium, for him to 'get it'.

I do not think that the 'left' has science teachers that is proselytizing in the class rooms, John. What does your light bulb inform you, genius-of-everything. [Image: icon_rolleyes.gif]
