Dr Alistair Moffat, boss of genetic testing company ScotlandsDNA, said: “We think red hair in Scotland, Ireland and the north of England is adaptation to the climate. We do not get enough sun and have to get all the vitamin D we can.

I guess he never saw a Bluey downunder. Much less bothered to check to see if the redhead gene has vanished from Australia yet. Or in America. Or pretty much anywhere.
How can these imbecilic stories get airplay?
Why would anyone run a story that starts off claiming such nonsense?
"REDHEADS could become extinct as Scotland gets sunnier, experts have claimed."
I'm being satiric when I blame people seemingly going crazy on global warming. Climate has nothing to do with it.
You have not read BUZZ replies to us on this exciting topic. He is one angry man who thinks we are in for a catastrophic warming, based on a trace gas with a limited absorption impact that theoretically adds very little retention to energy in the system.
He thinks CO2 is an IR absorbing super molecule, therefore must be feared.

Nice to see you here. It's quite rare to find an intelligent group (or even not so intelligent) that will actually discuss science, when it comes to anything and everything weather or climate related.
It's quite remarkable. It used to be the weather was a casual and interesting topic. Now, it's a dogfight.

Actually, I enjoy The Buzz's input. It opens up a picture window into the religious zealot's fundamentalist Progressive mind. The Buzz is a classic example of the first order, bless his heart. I don't know why Tommy worries about him so much.
Add a seething anger, dripping off of each word, and you have a classic before you. I've given up hoping he will ever see logic and reality any time soon, so I just enjoy him. When he finally does realize that we are cooling down, the cause will most likely be still due to CO2 and society's stupidity, rather then the sun as the primary culprit. After all, it is impossible to pass regulation on the sun, and force it to do what you demand.

While I don't subscribe to the simple "It's the sun, stupid" concept, I'm with you that the "halt" in warming is just one more thing that doesn't match up with the CAGW by CO2 belief system.
Perhaps we all do this, but you can see it with Buzz here easily - he picks apart whatever a "skeptic" says but then refuses to use that same level of questioning toward anything that supports his belief. If he would apply those same thought processes toward the he'd be saying "wait just one minute" just like we did.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

There JW, I added "Primary" to the "sun is the culprit" in my above post. That should make everyone but The Buzz feel better.

Lets see how Buzz can explain this away:
LINK
It is obvious that the warming slowed down, then flattened and now into a cooling trend.
Here is what it looks like for this century only, the one where it was supposed to warm by around .20C in each of the first two decades:

When are you going to admit that the AGW conjecture is a failure?

And now, for the benefit of our good friend The Buzz, I just thought I would throw out this little tidbit for him to consider. Here it is July 20, 2014, in the Raleigh NC area, and it is a blistering 79 degrees F, not Celcius. I'm just thinking of this because my house central air unit just cut on, after having been off for some time now. Obviously my heating bill for this month is going to be GrrrrrrRaaaaait. If all this cooling is caused by Global Warming climate change, I'm all for it.
Incidentally, we are not alone here.
Washington Dulles Airport ties record low temperature at hottest time of year
Cleveland sets new record low Friday morning
Memphis Has Their Coldest July Day Ever
48 hours for the weather record books in East Texas
More Alabama temperature records fall as July cool streak continues
Record cold in Arkansas
Record Cold July Day, In Dallas
Buzz, try this on for size. Can you say Little Ice Age cometh?

Global Cooling Deniers now have one more excuse to further their cause. Now it will be Mother Nature herself, saving the planet from melting down, proving the Global Warming Deniers wrong again.
Even the stress from the very threat of Global Heating has caused horses to succumb to it. Horse deaths blamed mostly on stress

I'm going to have to close this thread because it is just too large, and almost impossible to work with. There will be a Part II to continue it.
