Global Warming Believer's Section
#61
Sometimes the argument gets sloppy and leave out some reality.

Here is about what it really is:

We live in part of the Modern Warming phase, which started in the late 1600's.

There are two main parts to the AGW conjecture that has been postulated to explain the warming. But only the first part is real and the other part absurd.

From The Logarithmic Effect of Carbon Dioxide

1) The first part is real and measurable, but largely irrelevant at the 400 ppm level, since most of the so called "greenhouse effect" occurs in the first 50 ppm, with a rapid drop off after that,

Here is the laymans chart based on the above chart.

Scientist Phil, made this comment with a set of charts showing how minor CO2 is as an IR absorber:

Phil's Post -  March 11, 2010 at 9:35 am

CO2 as a molecule has a proven limitation in the ability to absorb and create warm forcing, to the point of irrelevance by the time it reaches 600 ppm.

========================================================================

2) The claim of run away warming possibility are based on unverified climate models, of a postulated phenomenon, that never showed up in the last 2 billion years there has been weather processes in existence.

The absurd large scale never seem and verified modeled positive feedbacks of water vapor, is incredibly stupid, because water vapor is a proven dominant NEGATIVE feedback easily seen in the  Convective process in the atmosphere.

Here is a site showing a variety of charts showing that the run away Positive feedback delusion, is already shown to be without merit:

Global Warming: Doomsday Unleashed or Normal Climate Change?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The IPCC reports have stated that the hot sport is supposed to show up in the mid tropsophere because of this positive feedback fantasy. They say around THREE TIMES warming rate over the warming rate on the surface. But it is actually the other way around, the surface warmed more.

This shows that positive feedback doesn't do what unverified climate models say it would do.Here is a chart showing that the powerful positive feedback is not found in read data, first some text on the chart:

Global temperatures List
Quote:The three diagrams above (using data from HadAT and HadCRUT4) show the linear trend of the temperature change since 1979 between 20oN and 20oS to be ca. 0.00089oC/month at the surface, 0.00095oC/month at 300 hPa, and -0.00009oC/month at 200 hPa, corresponding to 0.10698, 0.11414 and -0.01022oC/decade, respectively (see bar chart above).

Thus, these radiosonde and surface meteorological data from the Equatorial region do not at the moment display the signature of enhanced greenhouse warming. With the observed warming rate of about 0.10698oC/decade at the surface, a warming rate of about 0.21-0.31oC/decade would have been expected at the 200 and 300 hPa levels to comply with the prognosis on this derived from the CO2 hypothesis.

The below is the THIRD of the three charts mentioned.

JL,

can you delete these from my post, they don't show up on the review or the editing boards at all.I cant see them there to remove them, but shows up in my comment on the board.

I've gone back through that long post above, and there are some "html" problems.  Apparently you have done some creative "cut and past" from other posts of yours and some of the "html" code was either left where it shouldn't be, or or not there where it should.  I've done this before too, and its a royal pain to straighten out.

Have you done a "detail edit" and gone through each and every "html" set to seem if the "img"s and the "url"s have all their "Is dotted and Ts crossed"?  I know, its a pain in the rear, especially when you try to use the software shortcuts and then get creative with the "html" done longhand.

And John L, don't forget that the board update caused problems with some links/images, too.
I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

I never have this problem at my forum, several other forums I post in.

So you think using YOUR "insert a link" button is a short cut?

I often use preview to make sure everything is set up,which is a normal practice for most people who create a large post.

Tommy, whatever Joan advises, I tend to follow. She's been right for a good while now. S5
