After Action Report Found Midway was a Large Mistake

Sounds just like the defeatists today. I never did like King but I never knew he was an ankle biter. The reason I disliked him was how the USS Indianapolis tragedy occurred and his response to it.

I find that report a bit hard to swallow. Also, did you note the joke at the end about the NYTimes? When you add up the total number of Japanese pilots killed at Coral Sea and Midway, a Huge amount of their best could not be replaced.

I read Saburo Sakai's biography when I was growing up, and I remember him talking about how the quality of his peers steadily declined to the point where the pilots would be rushed in only to be destroyed, due to aging aircraft AND inexperienced flyers.

I just noticed it after you pointed that out. I will ask Donald if he added that or if the whole thing is a spoof.

Palladin, it is a spoof. If you go to the comments section, Sensing is asked if it is a joke. His reply is:

The lack of cites should be a clue . . .
