WmLambert I agree. While the number of dead is certainly far higher than officially stated, it's not in the million. They just cheat a little bit to look better.

There is also a push to make Chinese looking worse to make ourself looking better. If we can say that million have died in China (where no one can verify anyway) what is 100 000 dead in the US. By comparison, you look smart.

No... the data coming in now is about documented knowledge withheld by China - and the complicity of WHO extolling China's stellar performance, when the opposite was true.

Here are stated facts: Chinese doctors threatened if they talked about it. Researchers disappeared. Chinese buying up all the PPE worldwide before the news got out. The spurious canard about USA soldiers bringing it in to Wuhan. The definite pronouncement that there was no human-to-human transfer after they knew differently.

Belgium population 2020 - 11,589,623
Confirmed Covid-19 - 50,781
Deaths - 8339 or 16.42%

Belgium must have a second rate medical system.
The true purpose of democracy is not to select the best leaders — a clearly debatable obligation — but to facilitate the prompt and peaceful removal of obviously bad ones.

That does seem to be rather high, doesn't it? S4

OK, here is a bit of info for you.

CFR is a wrong coefficient to look at, should look at deaths/100k, it is more stable.  (But in this specific case, Belguim is still the world leader with 72; US is at 22 but will grow a lot yet, Asian countries like China, Korea, Japan are at 0.3-0.5, Thailand and Vietnam even better at 0-0.1)

This has nearly nothing to do with medical systems, for obvious reasons.  People are not getting cured much, have you not noticed? Death rate of those placed on ventilators in NY is 88%.... and the rest of the US or world is not doing much better.

This has a lot to do with basic human biology.  There are some common substances that massively protect individuals, plus some more factors, that's it.  Unfortunately this forum does not allow uploading images so I cannot show you just how this works -- the chart I made explains what is wrong with Belgium and most other countries,  but it is on a private site you don't have access to.  (If there is a way, I'll share S6)

Not sure why, but you can place the picture on an image site, and use its link to show the thing here. I haven't done that in a long time, but I've done it before.

No, there is a good medical system in Belgium. But the response to the coronavirus has been politicaly chaotic. Maybe the worse management in the entire developed world.

People are well treated at hospitals. But the preparation to this desease has been zero. They tested only those who had obvious COVID-19 symptoms. The good news is that among all those you are sure they carry the coronavirus, only 16% really do have it.
84% have something else, and can die anonymously.

Two years ago Belgium burnt a stock of 60 million masks because they were past expiration date. And, of course, they didn't renew the stock, not even partialy.

Fortunately, things evolve quickly and now Belgium makes thousands of tests a day and masks can now be bought in suprmarkets by pack of 50.
The percentage decreased dramatically as a result.

This ventilator frenzy has been hyper inflated. The saving rate is somewhere between 10 and 20%. 80%+ die, usualy because they can't sustain being on ventilator.
And only a few percentage of COVID-19 patients need to be put on ventilator. Who said, that the US would soon need over 100 000 ventilators had to be on something.

Moreover, they die from lung damage and bacterial infection long after the virus has left their body in a natural way.

All these machines produced in panic production ordered by Dr. Trump will be useless both because we don;t need so many and because they don't meet the specifications to help these patients. You can't treat them with cheap ventilators. They have to be top grade ones.
