I often discover new products that are released into test markets, and am as often dismayed by how long they are allowed on the market before they are pulled. I understand the business end of things, how some products may have good acceptance but no way to profit the bottom line.

In the past, I really liked New Coke - but the outpouring of Luddite reaction made Coca-Cola stop making it. Many times since then, there have been pleasant new entries that either stayed or went away. It is hard to tell what way a new product breaks.

I'm looking at Carrot-Cake oreos now. Really good, but will they be on the shelves tomorrow?
