I figure the hurricane is cramping John's ability to post. I figure he had to board up his windows, and fill sandbags.

...Then winds picked up and his wood shop vacuum system was compromised. He ducts it to the outside, so the wind discovered a secret entryway into his house and the wind blew off the hose connections, filling the entire place with sawdust. Power went out, and he is now sitting in the northeast corner of his basement prepared to sit there for three or four days.

Hope all is well.

I'm fine.  The sun was out all day, and it is yet to show storm clouds.  In fact, this is the first time I have seen a hurricane announce its self, excuse me, "Herself" with such time to take some preventive steps.  In fact, it looks as though Hurricane Florence is about to do untold damage to the city/county of Florence, SC, as it rambles through the Carolinas.  No telling where it will head once it rampages through South Carolina, and drops well over a foot of water over my neighborhood.  Shock

The one thing that people should be doing is boarding up their eave vents which will face the storm, so as to keep the high winds from blowing in and ruining their interior ceilings.  I can't reach mine, because it is too high to climb, short of getting on the roof and lying on the roof apex, leaning out and exposing the dangers of falling over three stories.   I'm sure I will have to get in touch with the insurance company after Florence rampages out of the area.

But thanks for your concern Bill.  I really appreciate it, and will report here on what happens.   S22

Perhaps this is the next thing we should be concerned over. You just know who is going to be blamed for all this "Climate Change", right? Shock

Hey, I'm still here, and there is little rain and wind here in Cary, NC. There's a little bit of sprinkling but that's all so far.
