John, you persist in getting it wrong. I do not, and have never applauded the GOP elites. I have always extolled the virtues of the grassroots. The party is different from the temporary kidnappers who want to subvert all politics into deluded and disinformed followers. The need is to target the John Dewey education paradigm, break it, and replace it with a simple knowledge-based system.

Who runs the party Einstein? And what would happen if a large group of rebels and right-wingers left your herd and went out into a new party? Would you have a nervous breakdown? Aww

You are just like CNN pointing at a wall and saying it is bad because it works. You're looking at the kidnappers and blaming the victim. If good conservatives bolt to a meaningless third party, they only make the minority party a plurality. Since that is the basis of Democrats already: that one-idea idiots band together for the communal power. Not my herd. Those who run off the cliff, like lemmings, now those are a herd of not-Einsteins. You either fight within the party to fix it, or bow to your masters on the Left, forever.

Quote:Ralph Northam yearbook page shows men in blackface and KKK robe

A photo from Gov. Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook shows two men, one in blackface and one in a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood, on the same page as the governor.
The photo, which The Virginian-Pilot obtained a copy of Friday from the Eastern Virginia Medical School library, comes from the 1984 yearbook, the year Northam graduated.

On the half-page set aside for Northam, there is a headshot of him in a jacket and tie, a photo of him in a cowboy hat and boots and a third of him sitting casually on the ground, leaning against a convertible.

Imagine the outcry had he been a Republican.
The true purpose of democracy is not to select the best leaders — a clearly debatable obligation — but to facilitate the prompt and peaceful removal of obviously bad ones.

Wasn't that from his VMI yearbook?  If so, I can understand the motives behind such things, having graduated from The Citadel, where we also did outrageous stunts.  Never underestimate the results of cooping young men up, into barracks and subjecting them to a strict plebe system.  Oh, the stories I could tell you about what went on in the barracks while I resided there in the mid 60s.  Shock

Same here, we did some really stupid thing during my first couple of years in the Navy.

Military or public school, the humor is often non sequitur and as far from what a person is than is imaginable. At the time, no one takes it seriously, because the participants are known not to be what is portrayed. Thirty years later, no one digs up the entire student body to learn anything. A photo of Ted Danson in black face with Whoopi laughing uncontrollably hardly makes Danson a bigot. An idiot, true - but a racist, no. His marrying Whoopi proves both things.

You really didn't know that Ted Danson and Whoopi were an itemi? He was one of those celebs warning the end of the world due to AGW. I had read they were living together, but I guess he never signed the marriage contract. 18 Year grudge

That's not what I meant. You stated that they were married, and while they were a hot item for a while, I never heard, or read, that they had married. That is what I was trying to convey.

Yes, I agree. I knew they were living together as a couple. I was surprised to learn they never made it legal. Just another proof of general nature, I guess.

This is really going to hurt them in 2020, most people know there was no collusion.

Yes, it will hurt them. All scrutiny on Russia collusion ends at Hillary, Bill, and Obama. Hard ti decry Russian collusion with what Obama did against Netanyahu.

"House Democrats plan vast Russia probe"

You mean, instead of the "half-vast" one now?

Y'know, we have been calling for recompense for the Clinton Crime family for so long, that it seems like something that may never happen. 'Seems to me that there is more calls for justice in the air that I have ever heard before. With a non-politico like Trump in office, I wonder if the tables may be righted.

I think a lot is being quietly done to nail them.

I hope so - but I hoped for something from Sessions and Trey Gowdy, too.
