Here's my question: Of all the things he is doing right out the starting gate, is there any one in particular that you love to see him doing.  Just curious here.  Spiteful

I haven't seen him accomplish anything yet. As a matter of fact I can't wait to see how he gets along with the GOP Congress. Spiteful

That's the Real Problem.  He is not getting anything of substance done BECAUSE of the Congressional Dumbasses.

Drudge Put It Perfectly: Congressional Republicans Flail and Fail

Quote:On February 8, 2017, Matt Drudge tweeted, “No Obamacare repeal, tax cuts!” and “Republican party should be sued for fraud. NO discussion of tax cuts now.” Drudge was spot on.

This week, Sen. Rand Paul (my former boss, it should be pointed out) stormed out of a meeting with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan when he heard talk of keeping Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion intact and creating tax credits. Paul worried these tax credits would be a Republican-created entitlement program.

Unfortunately, the leadership and establishment in the Republican party is incompetent. When you compare the accomplishments of President Barack Obama at the same point in his presidency as President Donald Trump, it shows that Republicans are not doing their job.
------
Weisman points out that at this point in the Obama administration, the Democratic-controlled Congress had passed his stimulus package, the Lilly Ledbetter bill, and started serious talks about healthcare reform. Right now, House and Senate Republicans have passed a budget that sets the table for Obamacare partial repeal, yet they don’t seem to have the stomach to pass the partial repeal measure that they passed last year. That bill gutted some of the core elements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by repealing Medicaid expansion, exchange subsidies and most of the healthcare related tax hikes.

Conservatives, including The Heritage Foundation, are pushing Congress to use this measure as the basis for reconciliation this year, yet moderate senators Lamar Alexander, Bill Cassidy, and Susan Collins are pushing ideas that will save the core of Obamacare.

Now that Republicans have control of Congress, they seem to have lost focus.

No they haven't.  They never had focus to do what they have been promising their constituents for decades now.   They say one thing, and then quietly, and meekly in the night, do the opposite.

They're Cowards!  They're Liars!  Their Worthless!  And they should be taken out and Shot!  And I don't care what their sycophantic excuse makers have to say, they deserve only contempt and loathing.  I totally despise the DC Dumbasses and will dance a jig if DC gets destroyed by a huge Impactor, OR a terrorist nuclear device.  I just hope that all of the Statist, Big Government members are there so they can reap their long overdue reward.  And making all the excuses in the world for these sorry F-ckers, we need a true Second Party, a Liberty Party, what won't put up with that crap.

This really does piss me off to no end.  I personally don't like Trump.  But he is making the right moves, and he is being stabbed in the back by the DC establishment Dumbasses.  When are the rank and file Republicans finally going to throw up their hands and shout "ENOUGH!"?

Anyway, that's what I think about this total Cluster F-ck excuse for a party.  Gah

I knew that Trump would have trouble with Congress, John. Those people answer to polls more heavily than the President does.

Here is something that is bound to be causing MacDaddy heartburn. And the hurt is only going to get bigger. And guess who is going to get ALL of the credit?

Coal mining begins seeing revival as Trump gives industry hope

Quote:Wise County, Virginia – A long-awaited revival is under way in this beleaguered Central Appalachia community where residents see coal as the once and future king.

Trucks are running again. Miners working seven days a week cannot keep up with current demand. Coal mines, long dormant after the industry’s collapse, are now buzzing again with antlike activity.

“We load coal every day for the power plant in Virginia City,” explained Rick, a long-time supervisor for a major local operation who did not want to give his last name. “There's one shipment a week for Georgia Power, and one for Tennessee Eastman.”

The past month has seen a resurgence of the coal industry that once formed the backbone of the region's economy, and locals credit President Trump's aggressive, pro-energy agenda.

The thing about it is John is what are they going to do with the coal once they bring it up from the hardest reaches? The easy reach is gone and natural gas is cheaper than coal. A lot of people are starting to use that.

I don't agree.  When I lived in Knoxville, I traveled all over East and Central Tennessee, Kentucky, and W. Virginia with my job in construction.  Traveling on the interstate and regular highways revealed huge strips of black veins all over the hills and mountains.  There are HUGE amounts of coal, all over the place, just sitting there to be mined.  I'm serious.   It will be a Long, long, long time before we run out of coal.

PLUS, as I mention in another thread about the Carbon Revolution that will be hitting the world in the near future: The Wonders of Carbon.  We are about to enter another industrial type revolution, where almost all of our building materials will be from carbon, and steal/iron will be only a specialty item.  Anything that currently uses steel for building things, will become obsolete. Why use steel when there is another abundant material(4th most abundant in the universe) that will make stronger and lighter structures?

Carbon is over ten times stronger and ten times lighter than steel.  And guess where we will be getting our carbon from, in order to fuel this revolution?  If you say from our huge oil and coal reserves, YOU WIN!!

Go check out the thread.  I really need to update it because I spent a couple of nights thinking about the future of carbon, and I did some research on the planet Venus, which is simply loaded with carbon AND Oxygen in great abundance.

It looks like The Donald is as serious as a heart attack here.

Quote:Trump Orders EPA To ‘Zero Out’ Global Warming Programs

The White House is pushing for significant cuts to EPA programs and staff levels, giving a glimpse of how the Trump administration plans on devolving more control to the states.

The budget plan sent from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to EPA leadership calls for eliminating dozens of programs, including at least 16 that have to do with global warming and implementing former President Barack Obama’s climate agenda.

OMB also requested a 30 percent cut in grants to states and a 20 percent reduction in EPA’s workforce through buy-outs and layoffs. In total, President Donald Trump is calling for a roughly 25 percent cut to EPA’s budget — about $2 billion.

Relating to the new immigration pause, this legal move concerns me. Normally, I would agree that the family should be able to come to their husband and father.

What bothers me is there's a civil war in Syria begun by the Sunni population and now that they are losing, of course there is retribution coming. It's their doing starting that war. They shouldn't be given refugee status here for starting and losing a civil war. But, technically, this isn't a bad move by the judge on legal merits. The pause should not involve cases like this, IMO.

This just shows how amateurish Trump's admin is. It's like me up there, except I don't tweet.

Quote:The temporary restraining order, granted by U.S. District Judge William Conley in Madison, applies only to the family of the Syrian refugee, who brought the case anonymously to protect the identities of his wife and daughter, still living in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

The biggest problem is certainly not Muslims.  Its that Autocratic Cult, that is the root of this entire thing: Islam.  That's where we should be fighting.  And we don't have to publicly broadcast it, just do it.  Make it impossible for Sharia Law to even think about being allowed here in the US.

Of course, the lion's share of the restrictions pertain to those who are "Driving While Arab", and that's exactly where that Cult got its start.  And the Real Enemy needs to stop being that of Christianity, which is but one of several thing that unifies The Progressive Left with Islam.

Well, here's another "Boneheaded Trump" move. This guy is renowned as a NYC Elliot Ness type, everybody held him in highest esteem and the dumbass fired him for 1 reason, Obama appointed him.

Trump is such a thoughtless person. His ego is supreme, rule of law is a joke here.

Preet Bharara has a reputation as a hard charging guy - but so was Comey. Perhaps the most important thing is to sweep clean all of the Obama appointees, because those leaking within the system feel they are beyond reproach, so can get away with it. An honorable person would be an open whistleblower. Therefore, the more irreproachable an Obama appointee may seem, the more hr fits the profile.

There are enough good guys to replace the maybe guys to make such moves an easy decision.

If there is any there there to Trump's allegation that he was under surveillance, Preet Bharara would have been up to his neck in it. Difficult to imagine his boss seeking FISA warrants and his not being aware. It's hard to see his refusal to resign and subsequent brewhaha as much more than a political stunt. Essentially he demanded to be fired and has gotten all sorts of headlines as a reward for it. He strikes me as a guy who has a good deal of political ambition ... the kind that tend to foster their own "Elliot Ness" flavored legends. He had a very good run, but it's hard to believe there isn't a long line of equally or better qualified people for that job. Trump is under siege from deep state leakers and saboteurs. This is one limited case where he can effectively make a relatively clean sweep. You can argue the baby and the bath water, but when it comes to Obama appointees the bathwater has gotten extremely toxic. This is not as 'unprecedented' as the media would have us believe. Janet Reno got rid of all 93 U.S. Attorneys in March 1993 (including Jeff Sessions) ... and don't recall her being vilified over it as they are doing with Sessions this time around. In 2009 Maxine Waters argued that it would be 'dangerous' to leave Bush II holdovers in those positions. I wonder what she's saying today?

And in the Trump Income Tax return scandal, I couldn't make up my mind whether to place this in the "Whore Media: Fake News" thread, or this one. Since I can be lazy at times, I'll just leave it here.

Rachel Maddow Overhyped Show Promising to Reveal Trump's Tax Returns Totally Flopped. It was a giant nothing-burger on the scale of Geraldo Rivera's "Capone's vault" debacle, only not as entertaining.

And since I was one of the countless millions who did not watch her show, I'll take the word of others

Could Trump Have Leaked His Own Taxes?

Van Jones is having a ball over all this.
Anderson Cooper And Van Jones Are Driving Sean Hannity To Drink, But In A Good Way

And David Brock, friend of the Clintons is offering 5 mill dollars for Trumps income tax records.   S13

And Ben Shapiro, like me not the biggest fan of The Donald, is getting some great laughs over all this.

5 Things You Need To Know on The Greatest Fake News Reveal Of All Time: Trump's 2005 Tax Returns

Here's what you need to know:
1. The Buildup Was Immense.

2. Trump Is Very, Very Rich. Trump cleared $150 million in 2005.

3. Trump Pays Lots And Lots Of Taxes. Trump paid $38 million in taxes.

4. Trump Responded With Justifiable Umbrage.

5. Trump Still Won’t Release The Rest of His Tax Returns.

And Paul Joseph Watson gives his colorful and wise take on this news fail, and managed to avoid any profanity in the process. Amazing.

Rachel Maddow's Epic Trump Tax FAIL!

Never before, in my entire life, have I ever seen so many, use so much, and try so hard, to destroy someone only to have 100% of Everything blow right back into their faces. This is simply amazing. S13

She screwed up for 2 reasons, nothing untoward about that return and she might end up in jail over this.

Supporters of Trump and haters of Trump( just like Obama paradigm) will believe absolutely anything that fits their mental narratives:

I'm reading and watching the Whores, and they all seem to think that this Healthcare debacle is going to hurt The Donald worst, to the point of removal. And naturally his little helper Ryan will share part of the blame for it all.

Well, here is someone who is saying "Hold On A Minute, Youse Guys!" He believes Trump has played Ryan like a finely tuned Stradavari, and it is Ryan who has placed his head in the noose.

Paul Ryan Takes the Barzini Meeting

This is well worth reading, and it lends itself to my contention, All Along (Are You Reading This Patrick ?), that "Crazy Like a Fox" is the proper description here.

John,

I would never say Trump is not a smart person.

IF that article is accurate, what he needs to do right now is start working with the democrats, he will win more votes for healthcare reform and decent other policies with them and the handful of GOP who are not worshipping mammon totally than working with this Ryan led group of pagan idol worshippers in the GOP.
