The New Stalin: Putin and MGB Rebirth
#1
There has been talk by some news outlets, which have still yet to become mainstream, that Putin is reinstating Stalin's old MGB secret police system.  And this does NOT bode well for Russians or the Free World.

Patrick, you had better pay close attention to this event, because this is the opening round of the new 21st Century Cold War.

I've been following this for a couple of days now, and had some links gathered for this thread.  But one of those articles, have suddenly disappeared and I can't get it any longer.  The article was from "x-true.info(Сила в ПРАВДЕ), naturally a Russian news site. The article "Erofeev about MGB in Russia: It is part of a special operation to build ..." is not a follower of Uncle VV, so its sudden removal states volumes about what is going on inside Russia.

John,

It may be, but, if I was the US POTUS, we would not be part of cold war II. Russia could orient their cold war desires to some other bunch of people that wanted to rule foreign continents, we would not be like that if I ran the USA.

We would be like a normal nation that tried to have good local governance and not attempt to control foreign peoples. Russia could war on China or ISIS instead of the USA.

NOTE: Somehow, I accidentally hit the "Post button" when I shouldn't have.  I had left out a lot of information.  I'll address why your thinking is a bit naive and self-defeating later.  S5

Most of the internet sites that discuss Russia and its intelligence system, still manage to get things a bit wrong.  They discuss the former KGB with that of the MGB, stating that their operational responsibilities were the same.  But they weren't.

Here's what I mean: from the UK Telegraph Russia 'to revive the KGB' after Vladimir Putin wins biggest majority.  That's simply not true.  Putin is going BEYOND that of the powers of the KGB, by incorporating All of the State Secutiry agencies under one authority, and one name.  In other words, he is reinstating Stalin's use of control of security to completely dominate the Russian State.  AND there will not be any "oversight" that comes with more than one entity.  This is HUGE.

VOX doesn't appreciate the scope of this takeover either: Why Putin might be trying to recreate the Soviet-era KGB — and why he might regret it.

The Independent's Nadia Beard, former Moscow correspondent, gets this far better: Stalin rises again over Vladimir Putin's Russia, six decades after his death: Sixty years on from Kruschev's 'secret speech' denouncing Stalin, Russia has still not fully acknowledged the horrors perpetrated by its dictator – and now there are fears that Putin is returning to his methods..  She provides a good history lesson here.

Two things here.  First, if you go to the first full paragraph on page 52, she goes over all of the official - Organs that are second nature to Russians.

Second, note how she gets it right about "Liberalism" and "Progressives".  The correct pasting of the Leftists with of their true name Progressive hadn't become commonplace in 2012 yet.  But she's Right On here.  S22

This Woman Really, Truly, "Gets It".  Her biography is a significant down payment in understanding what is going on. *  She has written several books about the threat from Russia, and Putin in particular.  Here is some of what she has written in her book, "What Is Happening to America?the Hidden Truth of Global Destruction".  I'll have to capture the pages and add them to the post.

I'm going to go and purchase a copy of this work, so I can read it all. But this Chapter 3 is a great beginning, by a wise Russian woman. If you haven't taken the time to read the pages, you really owe it to yourself and do so. S22

Yeah, it would be wonderful Patrick: just turn our backs on our potential enemies, and like you I would love to see it happen.  However, unlike you I have been smitten by a solid dose of Wisdom, accrued over the years, and mixed in with around the world experiences, which you have not.

Idealism is great, and I consider myself a true blue Idealist.  BUT I am not someone who believes a world wide utopia is even remotely possible.  Hell, even a small one is just whistling into the wind.  So, forget about it, especially if your belief in a supreme being can offer it After one leaves this world.  Natural Selection rules on this planet, and it awards those who are the most successful in passing along their successes to the next generations.

Its the way the world really does work.  Christianity helps improve our more basic instincts, but it has to be tempered with a soft hand.  You can preach and shout , and castigate, at the top of your lungs and it will not guarantee you a free lunch.  Christians have to set examples to others.

Here's another z-news.xyz, which hasn't been removed.........yet.  I'm going to copy it before it is mysteriously disappeared.

Quote:Viktor Yerofeyev: the return of the mighty monster MGB

In Russia will be reformed force structures. The result will be the Ministry of state security. MGB – part of a special operation to build a utopia, according to the writer Viktor Yerofeyev.

The farther, the more intriguing it becomes Russian life. There was a message that in near future there will be reform of the security services. The place is still pretty vegetarian in comparison with the Soviet times, FSB will arise a new (but seemingly forever forgotten old) public education the postwar Stalinist era – MGB, Ministry of state security.

Judging by analogy with the previous Ministry, it means: to twirl nuts so that little nobody seems. MGB Stalinist era became famous for struggle against cosmopolitism, which resulted in merciless, even to the absurd, anti-West, and in the powerful anti-Semitic campaign. This campaign by the end of Stalin’s rule turned into “doctors”, “the killers in white coats”, and the preparation of mass deportation of Soviet Jews to Siberia. Among other things, and the “Leningrad affair”: killed as enemies of the people most of the leaders of Leningrad at all levels. Leningrad after a heroic siege. Of the cultural events of the MGB especially remember the persecution of Akhmatova and Zoshchenko, which completely terrorized the Soviet intelligentsia.

For a person, even superficially familiar with the history of the Stalin era, the MGB is a very bad acronym for a government Agency, in fact, worse than even the well-known KGB was created after Stalin and not resort to institutionalized torture of Soviet citizens.

Who had the idea to frighten someone by the name of the MGB? A hint of possible future mass repressions? A clenched fist threateningly in the direction of an external enemy? An angry blow of the same fist on corruption in law enforcement agencies, which climbs out in the wild sizes and shapes? Or just Martinet insensitivity to dangerous phrase?

To these questions, you will not get an answer. Because they are not.

Life in Russia is becoming increasingly similar to the operation with a mysterious purpose. This amazing phenomenon was not observed throughout Russian history. The kings built a society on the basis of autocracy, Orthodoxy and nationality – three clear guidelines. The Communists proposed the theme of a bright future, where from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. Even under Stalin, where communism is mixed with a strong Imperial mind of the leader, it was clear that we were under the cover of world revolution to world domination. It did not, of course, in full, but many, especially in Eastern Europe. Under Gorbachev and Yeltsin started talking about universal values: the case is moved in the direction of marriage with the West. Failed, but tried.

With the advent of Putin’s Alliance with the West quickly deteriorated, but the belief that you will be able to create a comfortable consumer society faltered much later. It took several years, during which thought to catch up with Portugal in terms of life. Then it became clear: catch up. Not the ones we have in Russia the Chinese brains, with which to overwhelm the world with their products. And instead of a consumer society gradually the picture of bereavement.

Felt sorry for the collapse of the Soviet Union. Up to the tragic statements of the Supreme power was painful and pathetic. It was in Stalin’s time, formed the ideal model of the state social justice and a superpower. Add only to social justice working model of Orthodoxy and – in a way, back to former glory!

But openly about the movement in the direction of the Soviet Union to say it is still not accepted. All the mist. However, the fog still dense enough: motion is seen. Rather, only the outlines of the movement. That’s why Russian Progressives believe that the government is all the movement of cancer back in the direction of the Soviet Union, for the sake of making the Kremlin. But the Orthodox Church believes that the time has come to sever ties with the Russian people is alien to Western values and to help the state develop it. And the government itself is convinced that the model of the Soviet Union – the only correct model for spiritual people.

But then it crept one important detail. The Soviet Union was utopia, philosophically built on Marxism and the Imperial dreams of the nineteenth century. And this state was kept mainly on the force of arms and General fear.

The conclusion is clear. Transferring this utopia in the twenty-first century, the Russian rulers-romance turning movement of Russia in a special operation, during which in a romantic fog, we attach the Crimea, dream of new Russia, and in the political program of Zhirinovsky is already a point of returning to the borders of the USSR. The neighbors are scared, and this fear gradually turns them into enemies. And the population, breaking away from the commodity nipples of the West, experiencing some real difficulties. However, it believes the Federal TV and vote as you want to one day miraculously appear in the superpower with all its consequences. But once the path to the thorny superpower, we need powerful assistants.

And here emerges the phantom of the MGB. Not some Committee with unclear powers (KGB), namely, the competent Ministry will have to beat the werewolves. For those in the power structures agree with utopia, and he lives according to vile capitalism. This time. Second: the Ministry is intolerant of dissent, “the fifth column” average creative class, which does not embrace utopia. Third: the hardships that await the masses of the population on the way back to the bright past, can lead to spontaneous riots, known in Russian and Soviet history. This should be taken seriously spiritually enlightened utopia Builder. And not to lose their power, because no one else is willing to lead the people to the society, combining the best of the autocracy and communism.

How these plans are feasible, I don’t know, for the incomprehensible measure of patience and devotion of the masses and elites. How MGB will conform to the Stalinist traditions of its older brother? It depends on the will of the ruler. Well, from the situation in the world. After all, if not for the potholes and ruts on this Kremlin utopian way if it were not jerked to Europe bad neighbors-Ukrainians, Russians today would be all in the USSR, and the MGB would be a good mother-Protectress.

Minding your business isn't an idealistic impulse John, it's the way you act if you do what your mom taught you to. Works for nations, too.

That's so simple it seems difficult doesn't it?

Why do you think Russians hate us instead of hating Burmese or Mexicans?

Jeeze Patrick,........Helloooo, hellooooo,...........last I heard, the US was a major global trading partner with all sorts of countries.  Its called GLOBAL TRADE, or in some cases, even FREE TRADE.  Are you telling me that Russia, and other countries who would love nothing more than destroy the very cause for our wealth and spreading it around to our other global partners, are not a danger to us?    Are you?

Are you suggesting that we give up our world wide economic trade, and set up walls and let the rest of the world go its own way?   Gah

Uncle Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is trying his best to destroy us because we are the Big Kid on the economic world block. For heaven's sake man, there is far more here than just the threat of bombs and invading armies.  Good Lord, Come on, think just a little outside the box, ok?  He's busy bringing back the Russian past, which dates back from way before even Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov came on the scene.

And he is doing it in Spades!  Why can't you take off your blinders and smell the coffee? Banghead

Alright, I'm going to be nice, and not use the McFly video.  But please, please, learn to think strategically.  Please, there is far more than just the simple "In Your Face" facts that have to be considered.

The record will show Russians loved the USA in 1990 and had we not tried to dismember their nation and impoverish it like we do all that don't get onboard the "west" train ride, they would still love us. They loved us until 1995 and Serbia.

Putin coming to power was a nationalist reaction to US foreign policy.

You're so invested in US nationalism you refuse to see us. Get outside of your patriotism and look back at the US as if you are a Russian, Serbian, Iraqi, Syrian, Libyan, Iranian or a poor nation indebted to our banks.

Go watch the BBC documentary on our alliance with the Sinaloha cartel, see a Mexican husband that had his son murdered by the weapons our putrid state sold the Sinaloha cartel and see what THAT feels like to you. Open your eyes, it's happening right next door.

That BBC documentary pretty much makes the case that cartel is one more adjunct of US foreign policy. If that doesn't wake you up, nothing will, it started under the criminal named GW Bush.

Note the BBC has "killed" the documentary and I wonder why:
