Its Progressivism Stupid! Not Liberalism
#41
The Free Market usually has the final say in most areas - including morality. Limbaugh always said the best way to save endangered species is to put them on a menu. Once it is lucrative to have them, they will be bred as a food stock. If cigarettes are a danger, then someone will invent eCigs. When eCigs are a danger, then someone will make money off something new that will work better.

Leviticus was lifted from lists of old wives' tales of what is safe to use. Those prohibitions in the Bible came out of basic economics. ...A list of what works best. But things change and unsafe can become safe if enough demand drives the effort to make them safe. That is, unless it becomes more lucrative to fill up hospitals. Pork and such things were forbidden by those lists, until someone learned proper cooking killed the trichinosis and other trans-species parasites that caused harm. Makes you wonder how anyone ever made the decision to eat Lobster, or chew willow bark when you have a headache.

Oh, but the Progressives really do know how to be "Pro" "Regressives" don't they. If things don't go their way, they have this terrible habit of treating others as they would not wish to be treated themselves. Because if they were, they would be screaming to high heavens.

Owners of this Hawaiian café don’t want you eating there if you voted for Trump!

First of all, this is completely against the law, and leaves them open to lawsuits. But secondly, it clearly shows just how childlike Progressives really are. They don't even realize that they are committing economic seppuku. The big question is how long before they succumb to their adolescent stupidity.

The "High Marks" indicated in the article for Yelp have devolved into 2 stars ... which is generally not high marks.  They have a "clean up" window that is common for places that do this stuff ... indicating that they have been "in the news" and the ratings are undergoing scrutiny.

Same with this guy ...

https://www.1stinseo.com/trump-supporter...-canceled/

... a marketing business specializing in "search engine optimization" that announced it was terminating the accounts of all customers that had voted for Trump.  You'd think that an "internet marketing guru" would be savvy enough to realize what it would take to chew the bite he was taking ... but apparently not.  Unfortunate for his employees ... but I suspect his customers could probably do better anyway. Their link indicates they aren't answering their phones and to leave email. Yelp indicates that the business is closed ... which indicates they're probably belly up and that they aren't answering email either. Note that the one remaining "scrutinized" review does not evoke politics ... only their quality as a business ... and it is not kind.

Its just one more example of small minded children accusing others of the very thing they do so naturally.  In his site, he welcomes Progressives to his business, and he hasn't got the slightest idea that Progressives are in fact Fascists, via their own actions.  And Dr. John J. Ray did a scholarly piece about how American Progressives were indeed the very first Fascists of the 20th Century.

So much for these little crybabies being educated to the truth.  Gah

But he was correct about one thing.  Trump really is a Corporatist, which even Mussolini actually favored for his ideology.   The big question is whether or not the Dumbasses will be able to keep him in check.  Spiteful

Oh, and here's yet one more, who decided to cancel his "after-the-holidays party", because some of his former friends may return and make him sick for being associated with anyone who voted for The Trumpster.

Quote:Meet The Idiot Who Cancelled His Holiday Party Because Trump Supporters Might Have Come

"My wife Alice and I are not having our after-the-holidays party this year," wrote Rosen. "It’s a 20+ year tradition; a welcome respite for our friends following Christmas and Hanukah...This year, however, I told my Alice that Trump voters were not welcome in my home.  Living in Dallas, Texas, and given the conservative bent of our friends, that meant no party."

Trump voters do not meet his "decency" standard, Rosen explained.

But the pretensiousness runs deep with this one, so he took his anti-Trump crusade even further: "I told my tennis group, whom I had known for years, I would no longer be playing with them, since most were Trump supporters," he said, explaining to them that he "could not socialize with people who lacked a moral compass."

Couple of things here.  First, he is concerned about those who "lacked a moral compass", and he is upset because they didn't vote for The Beast, who lacks such a moral compass she probably doesn't even posses a conscience either.  Again, a classic case of "Projection" within all these adolescents, inhabiting an adult body.  Go Figure.

Secondly, here is yet one more Ashkenazi(with a name like Rosen), who has everything staked on being a Jackass, while the current Jackass administration is stabbing Israel in the back, yet one more time.  But what does he care, he's probably a G-dless Joo anyway.   Gah

These people are so clearly recognizable, and yet so reflective of the very thing they claim to hate.  Imagine all that.

Well, I'll be Gawl Damn!  Rush is finally "Getting It".  I haven't listened to him for several days, and just by chance turned him on, while working in the basement.  And low and behold, he hasn't used the word "Liber@l" in the pejorative one time.....yet.  But he is going on and on about the "Progressive Movement", and how Progressives are conducting a Civil War with the Constitution.  I'm speechless!

That's right folks "Its Progressivism Stupid!" Not Liberalism.  If he keeps this up, and doesn't fall back on his quest to appease his late daddy, this will be the turning point in a major political lie that has been going on for over 85 years.

The progressive movement has hijacked political parties in many western countries, the movement has to be crushed.
The true purpose of democracy is not to select the best leaders — a clearly debatable obligation — but to facilitate the prompt and peaceful removal of obviously bad ones.

Most places they can run roughshod over them. The US has been so blessed with some of the wisest people to ever gather in one place. They granted us a Constitution that just cannot be thrown away or declared null and void. That's where they got the name 'Progressive' because they have had to progress slowly, fortunately giving lovers of Liberty a chance to put a halt to it all.

Basically, this is the very thing Mussolini had in mind when he founded Fascism. He believed in progressing into Marxism, the ultimate form of Collectivism, because people would not let it go down well suddenly.

My point all along has been that if one can't properly identify the enemy, then how in hell will anyone ever have a chance in defeating them. I still believe that passionately, and am convinced that words really do mean things. Hell, they started out Progressives, and now they are glad to be back, after having thoroughly trashing the good name of Liberalism. Now let them enjoy their return, as we know them for what they have always been.

I still can't believe that they actually got away with all this for 85 years, and not enough people called them to task on it. S24

Mark Levin has a new book out this month.  Its title is quite informative. Rediscovering Americanism and the Tyranny of Progressivism.  And note that there is no mention of anything about those Evil Libs.

Quote:Levin Warns Of The Dangers Of Progressivism

The current political landscape resembles a soap opera, as the media breathlessly hype every little move by President Trump. But it's all a sideshow to distract from the reality that America as we know it is descending further and further into the abyss of progressivism.

That descent is chronicled in Mark Levin's new book, Rediscovering Americanism and the Tyranny of Progressivism, which will be released on Tuesday and provides a sobering warning about the state of the country. Levin delves into the philosophical origins of the progressivism and how it seeks to establish utopia at the expensive of individual liberty.

Progressivism is antithetical to the values of limited government, federalism and personal freedom enshrined in America's founding documents, yet the utopian philosophy has been on the rise for the past 100 years with both Democrats and Republicans embracing it, aided by the media and academia. The tentacles of the ever-ubiquitous federal government further ensnare society with each passing day.

Levin warns that the country's descent into progressivism will eventually reach a "final outcome of which is an oppression of mind and soul."

"The equality they envision but dare not honestly proclaim, is life on the hamster wheel, where one individual is indistinguishable from the next," writes Levin.

That's why there has to be an ideological re-awakening for Americanism.

"Because our values are in such a precarious state, he argues that a restoration to the essential truths on which our country was founded has never been more urgent," the advance notes of the book's publisher, Threshold Edition, states. "Understanding these principles, in Levin’s words, can 'serve as the antidote to tyrannical regimes and governments.' Rediscovering Americanism is not an exercise in nostalgia, but an appeal to his fellow citizens to reverse course."

Levin provided the following comments to The Washington Examiner:

Quote:We asked him for some thoughts as the book debuts, and Levin said, "My new book covers a lot of territory — philosophy, history, economics, law, culture, etc. And I look deeply into what is meant by Americanism, republicanism, individualism, capitalism. What do we mean by natural law, unalienable rights, liberty, and property rights? From where do these principles come? Why are they important?"

"Conversely, what are the ideological forces arrayed against these human and American imperatives, from where do they come, and how do they endanger us as a free and prosperous people? What motivates its advocates? And what is meant by progressivism, historicism, scientism, Marxism, etc.?"

He concludes, "Knowledge is the key to restoring our republic, which is the purpose of Rediscovering Americanism and the Tyranny of Progressivism."

Ok, its now official. The Huffington Post is no longer just "Left Leaning". Its now officially "Progressive" which makes things a bit easier to understand. They are hard line Fascists, as starters. Congratulations. S18

Here's a great article from Dennis Prager, who has 'Gotten It' for some time now.

Quote:Prager: Leftism Is Not Liberalism

What is the difference between a leftist and a liberal?

Answering this question is vital to understanding the crisis facing America and the West today. Yet few seem able to do it. I offer the following as a guide.

Here's the first thing to know: The two have almost nothing in common.

On the contrary, liberalism has far more in common with conservatism than it does with leftism. The left has appropriated the word "liberal" so effectively that almost everyone -- liberals, leftists and conservatives -- thinks they are synonymous.

But they aren't. Let's look at some important examples.

Race: This is perhaps the most obvious of the many moral differences between liberalism and leftism. The essence of the liberal position on race was that the color of one's skin is insignificant. To liberals of a generation ago, only racists believed that race is intrinsically significant. However, to the left, the notion that race is insignificant is itself racist. Thus, the University of California officially regards the statement "There is only one race, the human race" as racist. For that reason, liberals were passionately committed to racial integration. Liberals should be sickened by the existence of black dormitories and separate black graduations on university campuses.

Capitalism: Liberals have always been pro capitalism, recognizing it for what it is: the only economic means of lifting great numbers out of poverty. Liberals did often view government as able to play a bigger role in lifting people out of poverty than conservatives, but they were never opposed to capitalism, and they were never for socialism. Opposition to capitalism and advocacy of socialism are leftist values.

Nationalism: Liberals deeply believed in the nation-state, whether their nation was the United States, Great Britain or France. The left has always opposed nationalism because leftism is rooted in class solidarity, not national solidarity. The left has contempt for nationalism, seeing in it intellectual and moral primitivism at best, and the road to fascism at worst. Liberals always wanted to protect American sovereignty and borders. The notion of open borders would have struck a liberal as just as objectionable as it does a conservative. It is emblematic of our time that the left-wing writers of Superman comics had Superman announce a few years ago, "I intend to speak before the United Nations tomorrow and inform them that I am renouncing my American citizenship." When the writers of Superman were liberal, Superman was not only an American but one who fought for "Truth, justice, and the American way." But in his announcement, he explained that motto is "not enough anymore."

View of America: Liberals venerated America. Watch American films from the 1930s through the 1950s and you will be watching overtly patriotic, America-celebrating films -- virtually all produced, directed and acted in by liberals. Liberals well understand that America is imperfect, but they agree with a liberal icon named Abraham Lincoln that America is "the last best hope of earth."

To the left, America is essentially a racist, sexist, violent, homophobic, xenophobic and Islamophobic country. The left around the world loathe America, and it is hard to imagine why the American left would differ in this one way from fellow leftists around the world. Leftists often take offense at having their love of America doubted. But those left-wing descriptions of America are not the only reason to assume that the left has more contempt than love for America. The left's view of America was encapsulated in then-presidential candidate Barack Obama's statement in 2008. "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America," he said.

Now, if you were to meet a man who said that he wanted to fundamentally transform his wife, or a woman who said that about her husband, would you assume that either loved their spouse? Of course not.

Free speech: The difference between the left and liberals regarding free speech is as dramatic as the difference regarding race. No one was more committed than American liberals to the famous statement "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Liberals still are. But the left is leading the first nationwide suppression of free speech in American history -- from the universities to Google to almost every other institution and place of work. It claims to only oppose hate speech. But protecting the right of person A to say what person B deems objectionable is the entire point of free speech.

Western civilization: Liberals have a deep love of Western civilization. They taught it at virtually every university and celebrated its unique moral, ethical, philosophical, artistic, musical and literary achievements. No liberal would have joined the leftist Rev. Jesse Jackson in chanting at Stanford University: "Hey, hey. Ho, ho. Western civ has got to go." The most revered liberal in American history is probably former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who frequently cited the need to protect not just Western civilization but Christian civilization. Yet leftists unanimously denounced President Donald Trump for his speech in Warsaw, Poland, in which he spoke of protecting Western civilization. They argued not only that Western civilization is not superior to any other civilization but also that it is no more than a euphemism for white supremacy.

Judaism and Christianity: Liberals knew and appreciated the Judeo-Christian roots of American civilization. They themselves went to church or synagogue, or at the very least appreciated that most of their fellow Americans did. The contempt that the left has -- and has always had -- for religion (except for Islam today) is not something with which a liberal would ever have identified.

If the left is not defeated, American and Western civilization will not survive. But the left will not be defeated until good liberals understand this and join the fight. Dear liberals: Conservatives are not your enemy. The left is.

"Progressive" is also a euphemism that is incorrect. We need a better word.

The old KGB latched onto the Engels-Marx term, "Capitalism" as a pejorative to use instead of "Free Market" or "Free Enterprise". The idiots in the USA media at that time believed that Stalin was correct and we just needed to have better elitists in charge to make our country what they thought it ought to be. That was more Wilsonian than Roosevelt. They used "Capitalism" as a means to denigrate. I really don't care about "Liberal" as a term that engenders praiseworthiness. It has been misused so much that it has little value - and using it just jeopardizes what people mean to describe. I generally use the term "Flexible" to describe Classical Liberalism, with a smattering of moral appropriateness thrown in. Too much pigeon-holing is counter-productive.

What word can we start using that is more harmonic? The word must harmonize with well-meaning but illiterate people. Instead of "Progressive" we need something more like "Regressive" or "Plantation-Managerism". Something that evokes how the elitist see themselves in charge with an overseer using a whip to keep the vapid underclass of unwashed and intellectually turgid social inferiors in line.

One reason I try to stick in "Clinton Crime Family" in discussions about Bill or Hillary is to promote that very apt mind set. You say "Clinton" and hear "Saul Alinsky" or "bookkeeper for Mobster Frank Nitti."

I want more than just getting "liberal" back to a righteous dictionary definition - I want words to work again.

I agree that the word "Progressive" is not correct, and in fact "Regressive" is far better. Unfortunately, we have to start rolling things back by going from the present to the historic.

Once we get all those do-gooder Collectivists back to where they were in the early 20th century, we can begin work on the Regressive part. It just irks me to no end to see the most honorable concept dealing with Liberty bastardized, and allowing FDR to get away with his Big Lie. The overwhelming majority of people haven't the slightest idea of when and how this came to be, and there are some on our side, who are happy to keep this Big Lie going, in spite of their pretending to be harbingers of truth and accuracy.

When the KGB focused on "Capitalism", they wanted to denigrate our Free Market system. That allowed them to point fingers at rich people and at hoarding money. In the South, the term, "Uncle Tom" was used to label people, instead of refute ideas. (More politics of personal destruction.)

The Left has invested heavily into focus groups and think-tanks to generate clichés and resonant words and phrases that promote their party ideas.

Seeing that the Left rules over ghettos, plantations, and barrios, words that resonate with running that lifestyle would be great to use.

This is where you and I view the universe a bit differently Bill. I majored in history, topped off with a masters in physical anthropology. You majored in computers, or something like that. You only go back to SSR and KGB, while earlier is not part of your repertoire. Being a history person, I go back to the Industrial Revolution and later 19th century, where the Progressive movement began,.....before Mussolini even thought about Fascism, or Marxists even had a chance to mesh together.

You need to go back to the roots of all this in order to have a holistic picture. Progressives were doing all this well before the KGB ever existed. Seriously.

Actually, I was an Architecture and Design Advertising Major with a minor in Philosophy and Logic. The Advertising Design program was based on being the person in charge of all aspects of an advertising working group - so as an undergrad I was running a group of grad students in business, law, communications, and engineering working to fulfill projects run by real-world corporations. Because my role worked with grad students from all over the University, all prerequisites were waived. I took advanced classes all over the University, and so long as the professor wasn't upset that I'd hold back his class, I could take any class, anywhere.

I've always been interested in history, which is why i gravitated to true historians rather than the PC pundits. What makes me so interested in the political language is from my all-time favorite class: the Philosophy of Persuasion. My degree was a science degree - not a B.A.

Democrats work hard with their phraseology to win debates without using facts. We need to understand that and level the playing field.

BTW, they don't care about history. Their major M.O. is revisionism.

While this is a little different from nomenclature, I believe the practice that seems to have become common in the last ten years or so is inappropriate where "red" states signify those states that vote for conservatives or Republicans, and where "blue" states represent left-tending Democrats. Red has historically signified communism. Everyone who grew up during the Cold War remembers that the Soviets were known as the "Reds." Blue signifies law and order (even in the Bible; see Numbers 15:38, 39), justice, and the police. Even in electronics, when I used to build kits (stereos from "Knight-Kits)," the left wire always was red. Red means left, and always has! Red should signify Socialists and Democrats!

I agree Ron. When the red/blue colors were used by the media to identify pols, I thought the same thing. Since the Dems were coset reds, why give them the blue? But then, that's your answer.

Since the focus of the Left is to generate emotional response outside of any logic, of course they would want to steer clear of "red" so as not to be painted with the Marx-Engels brush. Since they revisioned the GOP as racists, projecting their own liability on the other side, the mechanism of using camouflage to short stop their own negatives is a given.

I've always suggested all non-Dem ornamentation with ties, pins, hats, and such should be red, white, and blue - and to continue to call the Left "Reds."
