Disaster Addiction And Global Warming

Yeah, I actually saw the Cardiff Giant at the Michigan State Fair when I was a kid. It was stupid. Just a big giant-shaped statue in a glass case. The main gist of the thing was the spiel. The barker made it bigger than real and sold it to the crowd. I could never figure ought why an atheist wanted to create this hoax to upset religious people. No one I ever knew, thought ancient giants could scandalize belief in God.

No one I ever knew thought ancient giants could scandalize belief in God. Was the plan to spread the belief in Giants, or to have the hoax proven wrong?

The bigger point was the hoaxing being integral to the Democrats. Refer to the D'Souza video on Hillary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0eH-lSNUaY

Some Creationists are on record as advocating that before the global flood of Genesis, humans, like many animals, lived much longer and grew much bigger than they do now. Ellen G. White, whom Seventh-day Adventists believe was a prophet, said that humans before the flood, closer to Eden, had so much more vitality that Adam was nearly three times as tall as men are today. The Bible does not explicitly say this, although Genesis 6:4 says: "There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown." (This was speaking in the context of the Flood and its aftermath.)

It is still debated what exactly these texts--especially the latter one--mean. Some say angels mated with humans. I maintain that it was two lines of humans who intermarried--the pure Adamic line, and a corrupted mutated line. But this is fairly incidental to Bible doctrine. The fact that there could have been giant humans is not denied. Gigantopithecus skeletons have been found, although often they are called apes.

The Bible does explicitly say that before the flood, many humans lived to be as much as 969 years old (in the case of Methuselah), and Adam himself lived to be 930 years old. If they did indeed live so much longer, then they might reasonably have grown to larger sizes, as well. After the flood, human lifespans drastically shortened, down to 400, 300, and less--down to what it is today. I think part (perhaps most) of the reason was that the atmosphere became only half as dense as it was before the flood. In other words, before the flood, the atmosphere was twice as dense as it is now--two bars instead of only one bar (the modern norm at sea level). This means that every breath you took, you would take in twice as much oxygen. The effects could have been greater stamina. It has been observed that people living in aquanaut habitats at two atmospheres pressure have minor cuts and other injuries heal much faster than normal. Some sports teams use hyperbaric chambers to speed the healing of athletes. Oxygen does not become toxic until you reach six atmospheres of pressure, as experienced by divers.

I have been advocating for 40 years that creationist scientists should try the experiment of maintaining two large terrariums, with plants and animals, one a control at normal air pressure, and the other at two atmospheres pressure. I think it would be very worthwhile to see what the results would be. What if you knew that you could live to be 700 years old if you lived in a pressurized home? You would have to undergo decompression whenever you wanted to go anywhere. But that should only take at most about half an hour, and only when exiting. You could just go straight in to the pressurized environment, with no delay. And I wonder what music would sound like at two atmospheres pressure? How would various instruments sound? An orchestra? We could be missing out on great beauty.

But whether giants existed in the past is not exactly a central argument of Biblical Christianity.

Have you noticed that the New Yawk Times is one of the main leaders of todays current climate warming hysteria? To them the heat is unprecedented. But Wait! Has anyone taken the time to do a check on the NYTime's credibility by comparing things with the past? Well this person has done just that, and he has some news that the NYTimes, and fellow AGW fanatics will not want you to hear.

Second image: why is the number 34 red in 2019 and not red in 2009 when there was also a hotter 36?

I dunno: Ask the Klimaatzeitungkomität.

Fred, actually I know the answer: it is just one more example of deliberately misleading the uninformed. All that red now implies it is oh so much hotter than it was before when it really was not.

Sadly, way too many people fall for and have fallen for this kind of fraudulent "science".

And speaking about disaster addiction, the heatwave in Europe has the AGW kooks going nuts.  I posted earlier about the 104 degree heatwave in France, and how this heat wave is the worst on record.  Everyone's going bonkers, and adding to the "End of the World" forecasting.  But this is nothing new.  This very thing, catastrophic heat, was reported as such in the 19th century and even in the 1930s, when it was really hot.  That was the time of the Dust Bowl situation in the West.

And here he addresses the overall situation over the last century.

Yes the Heat Wave in France and in Belgium (it's realy a heat wave) is very local. It's a spearhead of hot wind blowing directly south to north from Sahara. Only a narrow corridor is that hot (still almost as wide as France). Some parts of France see fresh temperatures. No heat wave in Britanny for example.

And in Lithuania the weather is rather cold for the season. You need to wear a sweeter in the evening.

And from The Deplorable Climate Science Blog we can see the following.

This Date In 1931

Quote:On this date in 1931, it was over 100 degrees in 28 states, and over 90 degrees in every state except for Montana Oregon, Rhode Island, Idaho and Washington.

This is an interesting post, showing how the powers that be, and the MSM, are not using the right comparison to other historical events.  Perhaps it is just too much trouble to dig deeper into this current climate situation.

I wonder how far back she researched, in order to reach the conclusion that slightly two degrees above normal in June equals "Hottest Month Ever"?

She is not poor financially (in french "thune" means "money" and in germanic languages "berg" means "mount" ==> "mountain of money".) Her familly and their relations are well off. Her parents are actors in Swreden and she sponsorized by some "green" banker. No, she is poor because she suffers from the Asperger syndrome (she is slightly mentally retarded).

If this doesn't get the Global Warming addicts in a high snit, nothing ever will. As I have stated before, I grew up right outside Anchorage, Alaska(Fort Richardson), in the 50s, and the weather was always mild. Summers would occasionally reach the 80F mark, but mostly in the 70s during summer. And winter would be decent, with things almost never past 15-20 degrees below. But it was dry and didn't seep into the bones like a wet cold.

So naturally I have been keeping my eye on Alaska, since the other day learning that the temperature was getting very warm where I used to live. Then I just found. Holy Cow!

Quote:Anchorage, Alaska, Smashes All-Time Record on Fourth of July With Its First-Ever 90-Degree High

Anchorage, Alaska, set a new all-time record high on July 4, as a heat wave intensified over southern Alaska that will continue threatening all-time records into early next week.

A high of 90 degrees was recorded at Anchorage International Airport for the first time ever Thursday, crushing the previous all-time record of 85 degrees set over 50 years ago, on June 14, 1969.

Merrill Field east of downtown Anchorage also reached 90 degrees for the first time in records dating to 1943. According to Anchorage resident and climatologist Brian Brettschneider, all of the city's weather reporting stations tied or set their all-time record highs on July 4.

It was hotter in Anchorage on July 4 than both Key West, Florida, and Little Rock, Arkansas.

All-time records were also set July 4 in King Salmon, a village about 285 miles southwest of Anchorage, and Kenai Municipal Airport, about 65 miles southwest of Anchorage, both soaring to 89 degrees. Palmer tied its all-time record from May 27, 2011, according to the National Weather Service.

What The........?! The MSM will be squawking about all this 'til hell freezes over. But what's causing this?

Perhaps Anthony Watts needs to go up there and check to see where the official temperature stations are located, and if they are now surrounded by asphalt and other heat collectors.

When I was doing construction in Vegas, the old hands always laughed about the weather measurement stations being placed next to cooling towers, or other places that wouldn't report high heat that might scare away tourists.
