Birch's comment says how I feel. Hagel was like I am, pretty much anti USA war effort unless we're attacked. Obama has bought into the transcendent USA concept.

That is depressing as hell to me. He ran as the most anti war leftist since McGovern and he's bought into the "USA has the right, responsibility and power" to do whatever we want, except when big states are involved".

I imagine Assad will be murdered now. I had hoped we'd stay out of that deal.

I don't realy understand why Hagel was fired. Maybe he didn't want to start Iraq War 4.0?

A fellow on Fox made the statement today that Obama will forgive a lot of things, including incompetence. But the only thing he will not forgive is dissent. Hagel made some public comments that were in disagreement with McDaddy. He also clashed with Susan Rice, the NSA. Rice and Jarrett are the two most important women in McDaddy's life. So it does not pay to argue with either of them. S18Gah

Fred,

John's right. Hagel made a couple of fairly reserved, but, off the reservation type comments. It has di.ck to do with competence. yet his admin has smeared Hagel already claiming he was incompetent.
