I don't think it's for this reason.

The reason is, IMO, that Islam is anti-West. Leftists and far-leftists have a special view of what our civilisation must be and before reaching their goal, the current civilisation must be destroyed. If Islam can destroy the West, starting by destroying its christian foundations, it's good for them.

But they won;t share power with them. They share the same hatred for our civilisation (or some facets of our civilisation) but they also differ on many points.

Fred, I'm not arguing with the other reasons for the Left loving Islam. Those are given things, or as Frederic Bastiat used to state, "The Seen". I am talking about the underlying thing, "The Unseen" here. Deep down inside, they sympathize with them, because at heart all are worshipers of Statistim/Collectivism, opposed to Individualism. That is a basic, root reason. The rest are simply manifestations.

Looks like Turkey is a target of ISIS now. Erdogan to them is a super apostate. Maybe this clown has bitten off more than he can chew? Remember, in that article they want to sack Istanbul, it's a major goal.

Who was it earlier, who stated that Turkey and ISIS were allies? Can't remember now. But obviously that is not correct. All Turkey has done is to provide a "nod and a wink" to many including ISIS folks to cross the border. Turkey's real enemy has always been Assad and Syria, which was the real reason for the "nod and wink" in the first place.

Now its coming back to haunt Erdogan. Consequently he deserves to get it "Good and Hard", as Henry Mencken used to say. S22

Isn't Turkey still a NATO ally? Are we not obligated to go to war if Turkey is attacked?

Ron, how'd you get on here? The thread is supposed to be closed, and Part 4 opened. Am I missing out on something?
