Hopefully by the time Frau Merkel ends this current term, she will have received ALL the credit she so rightly deserves. Spiteful

Quote:A Muslim woman was forced to remove her veil today as the ban on full-face veils came into force in Austria.
Items concealing the face in public places, such as the full Islamic veil, medical masks and scarves to cover faces have been outlawed.
.....
On Sunday, a Muslim woman defying the rule was spotted being told to remove her veil in the town of Zell am See.

In a ruling announcing the ban, officials in Vienna said: 'Acceptance and respect of Austrian values are basic conditions for successful cohabitation between the majority Austrian population and people from third countries living in Austria.'

The measures, similar to those in other European Union countries, also apply to visitors even though large numbers of Arab tourists holiday in the Alpine country.

Unfortunately the next victims....

Quote:Two women were stabbed to death and their assailant shot dead by soldiers in the southern port city of Marseille on Sunday in what police sources described as a "likely terrorist act".

Three police sources said the suspect had shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) as he carried out his attack at Marseille train station.
.....
The two victims - one aged 17 and the other 20 - suffered gory injuries, two police sources said, saying one had her throat slit while the other was stabbed in the stomach.

Some 200 police officers had cordoned off the area and all roads were closed to traffic, with security forces saying the operation was still ongoing.

The new law against mummery in my native country, Austria, is effective from 1st of October - Police have the right to use force if the person is resisting to show his or her face while in any public area.

Austria follows France and Belgium, which have a similar regulation.

Quote:VIENNA (AP) — A law that forbids any kind of full-face covering, including Islamic veils such as the niqab or burqa, has come into force in Austria.

Starting Sunday, wearing a ski mask off the slopes, a surgical mask outside hospitals and party masks in public is prohibited.

The law, popularly known as the "Burqa Ban," is mostly seen as a directed at the dress worn by some ultra-conservative Muslim women.

Violations carry a possible fine of 150 euros (nearly $180.) Police are authorized to use force if people resist showing their faces.

Only a small number of Muslim women in Austria wear full-face veils, but they have become a target for right-wing groups and political parties.

France and Belgium have similar laws. The nationalist Alternative for Germany party is calling for one there, too.

It seems for my countrymen in Europe, it is now really enough. Enough is enough. All people I still know living in my little country are complaining about immigrants, who are either criminals, demanding benefits, special consideration for Islam, or are plainly violent, uneducated, dirty and lazy people. Many locals now want them to go, they are not welcome any longer.

Conservative Sebastian Kurz set to take power and form far-right alliance
His People's Party is forecast to reap more than 30 percent of the vote
He wants to cut benefits for all foreigners and slash Austria's red tape
In a move that will alarm Brussels he wants to keep the EU out of national affairs
We will see, election are this Sunday, and results should be completely counted late Sunday, Central European time. UTC+1

Yohan, when I went to The Citadel in the mid 60s, I majored in history.  My history professors predicted what is happening in Europe, and to a lesser extent the US.  They talked a great deal about Western Civilization and the very foundation that has helped it prosper and grow.  That foundation was Morality and Family Values.  Without them, a civilization will wither and die.  And the "de facto" repository of all this has been, and continues to be, Christianity and The Church.  Without that, Western Civilization is doomed.

Morality:  Like it or not, the Code of Morality is paramount in any society.  But when the citizens of that society turn away from the guarantor of the bedrock of their society, they are courting disaster.  And I'm not saying that everyone has to be a practicing Christian.  I am saying that the citizenry need to recognize its value and why it is there.  And they need to support it.  But Europe has turned its back on its moral bedrock.  Churches are now ghosts in many, and greatly shrunken in most.  In other words, most have abandoned their way.

Family Values:  In modern Western society, the age old tradition of extended family and what binds it together are not being practiced.  People move away from their parents, and set up shop elsewhere.  In the process, they are cutting the tie that binds: generational family linkage.  And since the extended family is no longer important, there is no further need to replenish the aging population with such things a children.  Families with three, or more children is rare.  In other words, they are not replenishing themselves.  As they age, there are no longer young adults to replace them, OR be there to take care of them when they age, and are in need.  In fact, Japan where you now live is moving down the same path.

European countries have always been ethnic/tribal entities, which go back to ancient paleontological times. And the core factor to all this is Tribe/extended-family.  Its always been this way.  And like it or not, Europe is still divided up to be that way.  There are exceptions, where some countries have two or more root tribes/ethnicities, but I contend that they will come under pressure to rule themselves, just as the Czechs and Slovaks did peacefully.  But they have to be able to replenish themselves with their offspring.  And when they don't, others will be needed from outside.  And that is how Islam is slowly conquering Europe,.......from within, and without the need of military invasion.

The US is a bit different because we started out as a melting pot, and continue to be just that.  But thanks to Junior(Bush) and Obama, the melting pot was opened to Muslims, and if we don't do something about Islam Yesterday, we are going to have a real donnybrook straightening things out.   But Europe?  They'd better hurry up and get their heads out of their arses, for there will be no masked man riding a white horse, and crying "Hi Ho Silver".  They're going to have to do it themselves.

In case you missed my references at the end, here's what I was referring to.

Austria just took a step in the Right direction, no pun intended, their new First Lady could very well be a teenager.

People in Europe are now changing slowly their opinion, too many immigrants everywhere.
As these softy liberal political parties with lazy old politicians in power did not do anything about it, so-called right-wing parties with very young leaders are showing up for election - and win...

My native country, Austria, is obviously the first where political parties strongly against immigrants won enough votes to enter the government and their voice cannot be ignored any longer.

Quote:Austria is now western Europe’s only country with a far-right party sharing government power.

Incoming Chancellor Sebastian Kurz — who at age 31 will be the world’s youngest national leader — agreed Saturday to align with the controversial Freedom Party.

The Freedom Party, which was formed by an ex-Nazi SS officer after World War II, was last part of Austria’s government from 2000 to 2005.

Freedom Party leader Heinz-Christian Strache, 48, belonged to an alleged far-right paramilitary organization as a youth, the Sunday Times of London reported.

Kurz’s Austrian People’s Party will run the Finance, Economy and Justice ministries. Freedom Party politicians will run the Interior, Foreign Affairs and Defense ministries.

The Dutch appear to be on the way to being the next country to join the group. Geert Wilders, of the Partij voor de Vrijheid, is really gathering a following.

The real loser of all this is going to be the EU, and their open borders policy. As I have argued with Fred, the EU will not last, because it went too far and was allowed too much power. My guess is that it will next attempt to come up with a single military in order to consolidate power. But there are too many countries that are loathe to relinquish their armed forces.

And this invasion, thanks to Frau Merkel, is the stake in a united Europe's heart. There are too many different ethnic groups, as there should be, who want to be in charge of their own destiny. They are intent on preserving their ethnic identity, and this Islamic invasion is the "Straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak.

I just hope it isn't too late for many of them. Its going to be costly as all get-out, but the countries are going to have to come up with some way to deport the riff-raff and return them to where they came from. Then they are going to have to find a way to eliminate Islam from the remaining 'so called' moderates, and that's going to be the hard part.

Douglas Murray discusses his new book, "The Strange Death of Europe", in this presentation. He's a very witty fellow, as only a Brit with a good "Boarding School English" accent, can be. I think you will find him interesting, and persuasive.

He's even better than Mark Stein, if thats possible. Spiteful

He's perfectly right on everything. Just, it's reducing to call Merkel as the main actress to this tragedy. Immigration has been organized and the borders opened by an international, pan-european group of poeple, the pro-migrant lobby, and governments. There are governments and private poeple who have interests in even more immigration.

Migrant Crisis: 77 Per Cent of Belgians ‘No Longer Feel at Home’

Breitbard Wrote:respondents to the detailed survey aged 65 and over

How can this be rated detailed survey if they asked only 65 YO and above? Please explain...

No. That "poeple don't feel at home" is an exageration, I mean, absolutely not true, except, well 65+ YO poeple in certain areas of Brussels.

What is true, is that 70% think that there are too many migrants and that Islam is dangerous. At least those who think about it.

Most poeple don't care about it. And this is because most poeple do feel at home, rarely see a muslim (except when they spend a visit downtown Brussels). You can see muslims outside muslim areas, and in other cities but they are under the we-want-sharia-now density treshold.

To sum it up: No. We don't feel invaded.

I was home for x-mass. Will be "back" in march.

And in Norway, here is what will happen to someone, should he/she speak up and publicly express any anti-Islam and migrant policies.  Today, Norway lost its most prominent "Bell Ringer" of truth.

In Norway, a Torch Extinguished: Sylvi Listhaug Steps Down

Quote:Well, it was too good to be true. This morning, Sylvi Listhaug stepped down as Norway's Minister of Justice and Immigration. To those Norwegians with their eyes open to the crisis facing Western Europe, Listhaug has been a hero. She's condemned the hijab, criticized fake refugees and fake Muslim moderates, and warned against the jihadist enemy within. While other members of Norway's purportedly center-right coalition government pander and appease, she speaks the truth. Last August I called her “a diamond in a dungheap.” Well, now, she's been forced out of the government, and all that's left is ordure. For those of us who have hoped that her rise to power might mark the beginning of a new political order with the cojones to turn Norway around before it's too late, her resignation marks a black day in modern Norwegian history.

It must be so frustrating to have to do political business within an establishment that is dedicated to political correctness.  Her party, the 'Classic Liberal' Progress Party, has grown from a tiny fringe party, into a growing second tier party.  But they are still fighting an up hill battle, in spite of their ever growing strength.

Europe just hasn't had enough Ugly Lessons in order to cross that "I'm not going to take it any more" pivot point.  No telling how much Euros are willing to stomach before they actually take action on the Enemy: Islam and Collectivism.
