The Next Big Crash: How It Will Probably Happen

Yes, but my post was not claiming the Smoot Hawley Tariff was Voodoo Economics. I said that Ben Stein, in the movie, depicted The tariff as a cause of the Depression - and then segued into contrasting FDR's reckless and unsuccessful socialist efforts with the Reagan policy that spurred prosperity. If you viewed the YouTube, you would have seen that.

So, we've been heaving and hollaring over this crash -- but the fucker hasn't happened yet.

I just want some chaos you know -- I wish one of you could give me a hard date for this to happen so I could mark my calendar for a celebration.

Sooner or later the Piper has to be paid, and the longer it goes, the higher the compounded interest. It will eventually come to a Crash. But just not on anyone's schedule.

Take a tip from the great charismatic prophets of religion and make a prophesy. That guarantees it will never come to pass. William Miller, the founder of the Adventist church claimed the Second Advent of Jesus Christ would occur before March 21, 1844. His church is still going strong. Martin Luther said, "it is certain that time is now at an end." Even after Luther's death in 1546, his followers believed Nachenmoser who predicted the end would come in 1590. The Lutheran Church is still going strong. Thomas Brighman and then Christopher Love cited the end times would come between 1650 and 1695 ...then 1758 to 1763. The Presbyterian Church is still going strong.

I guess if one makes a prophecy, then that is enough. Actual history can just be ignored.

If I knew that I could become immensely rich. But the longer it takes, the worse it will be.

Here is the one thing that hasn't been factored in yet: the steep increase in energy. Have you all bought gasoline in the last day or so? I noticed today that gasoline was up about 30-40 cents per gallon since my last fill-up before all this ISIS crisis. If it keeps on going up, there could be hell to pay, sooner than later.

It could be that everything is coming together, exploding at the same time. In the military, we call it "ToT(Time on Target).

I'm thankful I live in a border community, gas is $3.85 a gallon in NY State vs $1.38 per litre in Ontario. Canada and the US should be 100 percent self-sufficient in oil production and not have to rely on outside sources. We should also have a domestic price for oil.

Oil should be priced by the marketplace and not pre-decided by politicians.

Now that Canada has decided to sell their oil to China and Iraq is going up in flames, either we start producing the energy that is easiest to produce - or Obama's strategy to destroy our energy usage will come true.
