I wonder how much the Reverend Al has to do in all this? Do you think he put her up to it?

It's quite difficult to discern individual contributions in a joint effort....

As the end of the linked article there are individual defamation amounts determined by the court:

Quote:Maddox was found liable for $97,000, Mason for $188,000, and Sharpton was ordered to pony up $66,000
plus $190,000 for Tawana ... this makes Al the least guilty ... and this makes me curious about how these numbers were determined.

I like the guy's attitude. If she simply owns up to lying about him, debt is forgiven.

She has too much invested in maintaining what little bit she thinks she has of her reputation. Or at least as she sees it.

As a guess one reason she changed her name was to escape the payment, but another was to hold a job: how many people would like to be cared for by a celebrity nurse prone to hiding in an excrement covered garbage bag? With incognito gone, smart thing to do may be to run again...

She was 15 and being exploited, all she needs do is admit she lied and point this out. I think she will myself.

I think most people find it easy(er) to forgive someone who pleads "Young and Stupid"... It makes us all think of the young and stupid things we did when we were young and stupid. Even if they never hurt anyone like Ms Browley did.

My views are heavily influenced by my faith, added to that is the fact I also have hurt some people.

Plus, in my family we have a situation where my maternal grandfather was a monster such that my mother wouldn't attend his funeral, yet his 2cd family saw this gentleman as a saint. Similar to the Bing Crosby 2 family dichotomy, only mom's situation was way worse vis a vis violence, etc.

Folks sometimes do learn better. From my view, we all deserve the opportunity to start again.
