Understanding the Second Amendment & The War Against It
He's a fool. The Left already understands the wink and nod. They know that they must only say the things that get past the media filters, yet aren't taken literally. The whole Second Amendment issue is a given for them - but they know it is fraught with pitfalls. Schumer must believe his cannon-fodder followers are even stupider than he is, if he spells out in chapter and verse the Democrat taqiyya, tawriya, kitman and muruna.

I think you are underestimating him Bill. He is a very shrewd and devious person, who is using all this to establish his power and financial base. I would be surprised if he actually believes any of the crap he helps peddle. Granted, he's a typical Collectivist Ashkenazi, and would feel comfortable in the ultimate Socialist haven.

This is about power and his willingness to trade in what integrity he may have remaining.

Here is a very good article from PJ Media, discussing the immaturity and child like behavior of a number of the kids.  But John Hawkins goes a step further in how the Progrressive Left is doing far more than encourage future Progressives like David Hogg.  He used a beautiful expression that nails Hogg better than anything I have heard so far.  He calls him a "Sock Puppet", and that's exactly what he is.  He's a puppet on a string being played by movers and shakers on the Left, who wish to tear down the Constitution and our society.

Quote:The Ignorant Parkland Kids Don't Speak for Their Dead Classmates

It’s incredibly annoying to be lectured to by high school kids because the fact of the matter is that very few of them know anything about anything. Why would they? They’re kids. Somebody else feeds them, puts a roof over their heads and pays their bills. This is nothing to be ashamed of for a teen. I was just like that; so were you and so was just about everyone else. In fact, it’s almost universal once you get past a very small subset of humanity like Alexander the Great and Annie Oakley. That lack of knowledge wouldn’t be a problem at all except when it’s combined with today’s “We’ve got to pump up their self-esteem at all costs” culture along with manipulative adults looking to use kids for their own purposes. This is how you end up with a kid like David Hogg saying something as ignorant and arrogant as this:

Quote:The Outline described Hogg as “mad as hell” and when they asked him about why he and his fellow students were the ones pushing gun control laws, he said it’s because their parents “don’t know how to use a f**king democracy.”

"It's like when your old-a** parents are like, ‘I don't know how to send an iMessage,' and you're just like, ‘Give me the f**king phone' and you take it and you're like, ‘OK, let me handle it,' and you get it done in one second," Hogg said. "Sadly, that's what we have to do with our government because our parents don't know how to use a f**king democracy, so we have to."

Yes, all the adults are idiots, so the world needs the towering wisdom of 17-year-old David Hogg to explain how it should all work. Is David Hogg even smart enough to know that he’s a sock puppet? After all, he has no new insight on this problem. He has no great wisdom to share. Many of his own classmates don’t agree with his viewpoint. But, Hogg has adults with an agenda telling him what to say and adults in the media who put him on TV and treat him with kid gloves because they want him to parrot their beliefs about guns. He and the other Parkland kids you see on TV are put there to be human shields for gun control advocates. They tell the sock puppets what to say, but no one’s supposed to respond because they speak for those dead kids. But, do they? Really?
..........
Quote:“They're pathetic f*ckers that want to keep killing our children," said Hogg, referring to the NRA. "They could have blood from children splattered all over their faces and they wouldn't take action, because they all still see those dollar signs."

…"It just makes me think what sick f*ckers are out there that want to continue to sell more guns, murder more children, and honestly just get reelected," Hogg said. "What type of person are you when you want to see more f*cking money than children's lives? What type of sh*tty person does that?"

Wow, I’ve got to stop and applaud the amazing brainpower it took to spew out those two sentences. What insight! What a role model for other kids! Why, I haven’t seen a response that persuasive and well thought out since I read the comments of maladjusted trolls on Twitter yesterday. What is the proper response to that genius other than, “Obviously, his parents have failed at their jobs”?

This entire thing makes me sicker than I already am.

Here's some interesting information today from Breitbart.com.

Unpublished CDC Study Confirms over 2 Million Annual Defensive Gun Uses

Quote:An unpublished Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study confirms Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s findings of more than two million defensive handgun uses (DGUs) per year.
Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. That is his low estimate; Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million.

Kleck reaffirmed his numbers on February 17, 2015, explaining that while plenty of naysayers have criticized his findings, none have been able to offer empirical evidence to counter them.

Now, a CDC study conducted on data from 1996, 1997, and 1998 has been uncovered. The study, which was never released to the public, shows approximately 2.46 million DGUs per year.

Kleck summarized the CDC findings:

Quote:In 1996, 1997, and 1998, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted large-scale national surveys asking about defensive gun use (DGU). They never released the findings, or even acknowledged they had studied the topic. I obtained the unpublished raw data and computed the prevalence of DGU. CDC’s findings indicated that an average of 2.46 million U.S. adults used a gun for self-defense in each of the years from 1996 through 1998 – almost exactly confirming the estimate for 1992 of Kleck and Gertz (1995). Possible reasons for CDC’s suppression of these findings are discussed.

On April 20, 2018, Reason magazine quoted Kleck’s reaction to the unpublished CDC findings; he explained that a figure of 2.46 million DGUs a year “[implies] that guns were used defensively by victims about 3.6 times as often as they were used offensively by criminals.”

The survey asked people if they had ever had to confront another human being with a gun for defensive purposes, and counts this as "Defensive Gun Use, even if the gun is not fired. It also excludes police, for whom gun use is a part of the job. 2.46 million DGU's is an astounding number! And in that context, I would think that having an AR-15 would be a lot more intimidating as a defensive threat that a little baretta pistol. Though of course a hand-held pistol would be more practical for use at close quarters, like defending against someone who has broken into your home. Maybe a Glock or a 45 revolver would be more practical.

It's weird: The two last picture show women. The picture above showing gun right activists show only men...
Somthing's wrong there. Please explain.

In fact, it's precisely the most vulnerable poeple (women) who are ethe least likely to own a gun.

The other thing wrong with this anti-gun-control craze is that gun control doesn't aim at defensive weapons but at assault weapons.
The most lethal mass killings were done with assault weapons which by any means should be prohibited.
Handguns are not targeted by gun control.
And as Ron said, a long riffle doesn't add much to the defense of your home against burglars or to the self defense of a woman about to be raped.

Being the most vulnerable, women do have the most defensive weapons, but much of that is pepper spray and sirens, used on the street.

In the home, defensive weapons have different aspects. Outside, one needs one-on-one protection. In the home. a family needs to stay out of any target zones, because you never know how many armed intruders there might be. You are supposed to make noise, demonstrate the weapons and alert help. The main tactic is to scare them off, not shoot them. In the home, a long rifle may discourage some intruders that they can make a getaway. The range of a handgun is only a few feet. Once outside, fleeing perps feel less safe against rifles. Most guns are stored in the home and are registered with head of household, but either sex can use them.

I've always been amazed with things like this.  Are they dangerous?  Of course.  Are they as deadly as advertised? Hell no.  All a bump stock does is allow someone to empty a magazine quicker than before...............and missing almost everything.  The goal/object is supposed to be able to hit what one aims at.  In other words, accuracy. But with a bump stock you can't aim, which results in little to no accuracy.

I never set my selector switch on full automatic fire on active duty, because I believe in hitting what I aim at, and with the least wasted ammunition.  But boy this thing has civilians all riled up over something that destroys one's ability to be accurate.  Imagine that.  Spiteful
