How green zealots are destroying the planet

John,

What India and the UK were about in that article is malthusian fear/hatred/elimination of people, but, it doesn't seem to be eugenics in the sense of mixing and matching genes to accomplish a super race of people like Woodrow Wilson, Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill were into.

Patrick, Malthusian thinking is one of the main reasons why the Eugenics movement has gained so much of a following since the Progressive movement began. They are part and parcel to each other. But I get your point.

Malthus-Darwin-Eugenics and You

Introduction to Eugenics

Quote:Eugenics is the study of methods to improve the human race by controlling reproduction. The word was coined in 1883 by Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin. Galton believed that the proper evolution of the human race was thwarted by philanthropic outreach to the poor when such efforts encouraged them to bear more children. Charity upset the mechanism of natural selection. Hence, the human race needed a kind of artificial selection: eugenics. The word is from Greek for good birth. Galton wanted eugenics to develop from a science to a policy to a religion.

Yes, evolution in humans is thwarted by the altruism gene in spite of all that politicians can do to cull the population by war.

Or is it just the human gene that compels people to save every scrap of everything. The proof of this is the growing database of facts, emails and everything that can be digitized being stored. Like Herpes, emails are forever.
Jefferson: I place economy among the first and important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our choice between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.

What's most interesting is that altruism is discouraged through private organizations, yet highly encouraged by the State, within the Progressive mentality. As per the quote above:

Can't have such groups as the Salvation Army, or other private charities keeping the unfit alive or even worse yet, helping them pull themselves out of their assigned station. But it is highly encouraged within the State, especially the State run by Progressives. That way they will have control over the unwashed and be able to decide who prospers/lives, and who doesn't/dies. National HealthCare is a classic example, via committees that decide who gets treatment, and who doesn't.

Remember the lady asking Obama about her mother who is elderly, but needs a (fill in the blank), and if she would be able to receive it under ObamaCare. And remember Obama telling her that perhaps a pain pill would be best. Don't you just love Collectivist hypocrites?

Ain't that wonderful, having someone doing your thinking for you?

Obama to Jane Sturm: Hey, take a pill

Here is just one more, of countless, red flag that voters should have paid attention to, when choosing the president. Don't 'cha think?

The state merely buys votes under the guise of "caring". EG the actions of FDR and LBJ.

Privatize welfare.

Here is a classic example of what makes Eco-Wackos tick. Anyone enjoying themselves, and doing what the Kooks don't agree with, is partaking in something that is dangerous to the planet and must be 'verboten'.

Now Backyard Barbeques Are Destroying The Planet – Leading German Alarmist Site Frets

Nothing like a good solid dose of 'environmental Calvinism' to get us all back on the right track in order to save the planet from ourselves. S5

Quote:I don’t want to go further into detail. But for me it is clear that there is little to be desired from such pyromaniacal male rituals from the early times of the homo sapien sapiens. From a culinary perspective, invitations to barbecues are almost always a catastrophe, also health-wise because charred fat and meat in addition to the synthetically produced sauces and marinades are known to be extremely carcinogenic and very difficult to digest without huge quantities of pure alcohol.

Ecologically and from a climate perspective, barbecues are nothing but a disaster. Just the enormous quantities of meat at barbecues is completely unacceptable. Then there’s the charcoal, which is ecologically okay only if you look at it only on the surface. About two thirds of the 300,000 tons of charcoal burned in Germany every year by barbecue fans comes from the South American rain-forests. Most of the raw wood for this must be illegally cut.

Barbecue fans contribute to the destruction of the rain forests in three ways, and thus to climate change: First because of the soy production needed for producing huge amounts of meat. Secondly through the chopping of trees for producing charcoal. Moreover, this takes away an important source of fuel for the local people, who then in turn have to cut even more trees down. Now that rising temperatures are leading to a classic vicious circle whereby the number of summer evenings with”super barbecue weather” are rising, which in turn drives up demand for more charcoal, which leads to more deforestation and so on.

The only detriment I know about for BBQ-ing is cleaning the grill afterwards.

Can I help you to restore order in this think tank of yours, spinmeister? First, altruism is something your church is very proud about, it in fact is, according to them, the best evidence for the existence of God. Secondly, according to yourself, private charities are good, because they do it more effectively than the state, and all that crap you always say. So, why shouldn't the state encourage private charities?

Laugh: altruism is not altruism when practiced by a self-serving entity that holds its power by bribes. Good charities are there for the good of the people helped - not for their own livelihood. The Salvation Army is an example of a good charity, whose helpers donate their time and do not line their pockets with "overhead", like the Cancer Society, The Torch Drive, and so many others do.

The state only takes money that charities can administer better, take its filthy lucre off the top, and then redistributes what is left to voting blocs they nurture.
