Uganda to Space

This gotta be a joke, right?

Is the US about to fall behind not just China, Russia, India but also this G-d forgotten place?

Could it be that reorienting NASA toward AGW and Muslim outreach was somehow not wise? S13

Isn't that amazing: a 21st century cargo cult, which originated in the 1940s. Some things never really change.

The plane looks fairly well sanded to a semi-gloss finish. There are still a few bumps and irregularities that you can see from the pictures. It may be a carbon-fiber composite - at about the level that a Junior-high school shop might put out. If there is any science behind the design - it must be anti-gravity - because only a slow speed escape of gravity and re-entry is possible. The suggested rubber band will not work, because it must cause the plane to reach escape velocity, and without the anti-grav, the configuration is all wrong.

The cargo-cult pictures are just a little less practical.

It might be a glider... and the initial lift supplied by a running elephant...a step toward bioships of Babylon 5?

Obviously the principle is still the same. Only difference is that the original cultists of Papua New Guinea were never exposed to anything technical prior to their meeting the G-ds of the West.

Our semi-barbaric Ugandans have a little to go on, so they have a slight advantage. This is to be expected from a couple of generations of exposure to those same mystical G-ds. S1
