Very clever.

Representative Gohmert is one Repbublican who, at least in this instance, is not gutless.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

He was on the Judge's show tonight, at Fox Business, talking about the bill and also the Messiah.

We've tried ever higher taxes, ever higher government spending, and ever higher punishment for the corporations and the rich. I'm willing to try the opposite and see how it works.

Ahhh, but we just haven't thrown enough money at the problem. Just a little bit more, and it should take us over the top................................................................

We have a long LLLLOOOONNNGGG way before we are over the edge. My family has an unusually long interval between generations. My mother grew up crapping in an outhouse and watching neighbor's starve. Today, most of the 'poor' own cell phones ... there is hunger but more often the 'poor' suffer obesity just like the rest of us. Unless you were camping (in a developed camp ground), when was the last time you used an outhouse? I mange to crap in the woods occasionally, but it pretty much only happens when I'm hunting and haven't timed things quite right. We have a long, long way to slide. I'm not saying that our standard of living isn't declining, just that we have a heck of a long way to go before we approach the edge. If we can get jughead out (it's less than 18 months out) we stand an excellent chance of avoiding the crapper.

... I'm just sayin' ... we are probably looking at a 20-30% or so reduction in our standard of living ... what the hell ... that seems livable doesn't it??

We tend to view things through the affluent lens of the last 50 years or so in this county ... for us it seems normal ... for the rest of the world it's pretty much an aberration ... again, we have a long way to go before we manage Marxist "equality for all" ... aka ... everybody craps in the woods ...

mr_yak, I stayed with some friends a number of years ago in an old cabin they lived on a lake in the woods, a few miles from Mt. Calispel. This was in northeastern Washington (state). There was no indoors restroom. We had a cold snap, and believe me, you haven't lived until you have used an outhouse in the dark when it is 30 below zero F. At that temperature, you hear "crack" sounds like gunshots every few minutes in the woods around the lake as twigs and maybe branches freeze and fracture.

But we did not feel poor. Anyone else might have classified us as such. But we still had electricity. And wood-burning stoves. And plenty of firewood. And good water. And we could get in our cars and leave anytime we wanted to. (Well, at one point I had to use hot water to free my car's tires from the ice.)

Because they and their friends are making out like bandits. How much of this Solyndra cash is going to be funneled into DNC election campaigns in the next few years?

Solyndra and Light Squared are/were huge funnels ... but frankly they are chump change compared to the banking interests ... including the F'ED. Keep in mind that the F'ED is a private entity ... with a governmental sanctioned license to steal ... the biggest bandits are the ones in charge of the printing presses ...

Solyndra was a measly half a billion$ ... think about all the cash that showered on to the fat cats at (sh)Citi, BOA, Morgan Stanley ... throw in GM and you are well over a Trillion$. Now all the Bamster can talk about is taxing millionaires ... is it just me or does that sound a bit like a shell game?? How exactly does shuffling money back and forth create jobs? Can any of the lefties out there clarify this for me?

Their cause would be boosted immensely if JUST ONE liberal millionaire/billionaire would come forward and present proof that they routinely give more to the IRS than asked of them due to their guilt for being well off.

If I understand this bill correctly, it will all but nullify most exemptions made by taxpayers who give to private charities. Not a bad strategy, shut off the valve to the private sector and people in need will have no choice but cozy up to the federal teat.

Pretty much standard Saul Alinsky stuff. It would be interesting if these guys had an original thought every once in a while ...

But he's one of the Beautiful People. Why should he be required to do what is expected of the rest of the poor slobs out there? After all, he's special,.......right? S5

The worst part is that there are many of those poor slobs, who actually buy into all that horseshit, all in the name of the Collective. That is one of the reasons why I encourage the Buzzes of the world to come forward and show us what makes their warped brain tick.

Nobody will see the full text until Monday ... and then it will probably be one of those "need to pass it before we know what's in it" affairs ... but to your point, I'm wondering how many goodies for his various pals will be tucked away in the small print. They've been pretty klutzy with their cronyism in the past ... I doubt they'll be very sophisticated about it this time around. The "millionaire tax" is bound to have some 'immunity' clauses ... should make for an interesting read ...

And that is why there are think tanks, such as CATO, CEI, Heritage, AEI, FEE, and others, who will take the time to go over all of the hidden meanings, line by line. And then let the rest of us know about what he is really attempting to ram down the throats of us all.

'Technically' he fulfilled the letter of the law by paying the bill ... but only after it became a political embarrassment ... and blowing off the chunk that preceded the statutory limit (after all, why pay your "fair share" unless the law says you absolutely have to?). Most of the rest of us probably would have been facing jail time ... beautiful indeed!! If you're the court jester you can practically get away with murder ... long live the king!! S2

Bless their hearts, their patience and most of all, their ability to sift through all that sh*t ... talk about "shovel ready"!! eh?

... cuz it's never really about what it's about is it? Green technology ... or a masked sweet payoff to sugar daddy donors? Jobs?? ... or a some other kind of masked sweet payoff to sugar daddy donors and union bosses?
