Australia Just Grabbed 4 FEET OF FRESH Over The Weekend!

Since Australia is south of the equator, it is winter there. August for them is like February for us. Also because of earth's orbit, earth is farther from the sun during the Australian winter than is the case during our winter. Also there is no indication of the altitude where the snowfall occurred, but the linked article says it was in the mountains. It would be more instructive to give comparisons that reflect parallel conditions in parallel places. So the above picture proves nothing.

You have a point Ron, but Australia as a nation get very little snow, only in the few mountains does it get much. From Wikipedia,

"The coldest region is the Snowy Mountains where the snow and frost continues for quite long period during the winter months. The Blue Mountains, Southern Tablelands and Central Tablelands, which are situated on the Great Dividing Range, have mild to warm summers and cold winters, although not as severe as those in the Snowy Mountains."

JL's link stated this:

"After a horrible start to the ski season, Australia is now in the midst of an all-time winter after a snowstorm dumped more than 4 feet of snow on select mountains in the Victoria and New South Wales provinces."

The totals from the storms are way above average.

Apparently our "Perverse" pope is either stuck on Stupid, or is actively promoting the Big Big Government routine.

Quote:Pope rebukes climate deniers as 'perverse' in Bonn message

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis on Thursday rebuked those who deny the science behind global warming and urged negotiators at climate talks in Germany to avoid falling prey to such "perverse attitudes" and instead accelerate efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

Francis issued a message to the Bonn meeting, which is working to implement the 2015 Paris accord aimed at capping global emissions.

In it, Francis called climate change "one of the most worrisome phenomena that humanity is facing." He urged negotiators to take action free of special interests and political or economic pressures, and to instead engage in an honest dialogue about the future of the planet.

Francis didn't cite any countries by name, but the United States has announced it is withdrawing from the Paris accord, and President Donald Trump has nominated several people in his administration who question scientists' conclusions that human activity is behind the global rise in temperatures. At the same time, the U.S. administration has promoted the use of fossil fuels like coal for U.S. energy needs.

In his landmark 2015 environmental encyclical, Francis said global warming is "mainly" due to human activity and he called for fossil fuels to be progressively phased out without delay.

In his message, the Argentine pope denounced that efforts to combat climate change are often frustrated by those who deny the science behind it or are indifferent to it, those who are resigned to it or think it can be solved by technical solutions, which he termed "inadequate."

"We must avoid falling into these four perverse attitudes, which certainly don't help honest research and sincere, productive dialogue," he said.

Anyone who fell for the Black liberation politics of South America lacks both facts and knowledge. Believing in falsehoods is a given.

Never heard of that before. Looked it up and nothing relevant from what I can see. However, the pope is from Argentina, and is a Peronist. They're White Europeans down there, and Peron was just another common follower of Fascism, i.e. Spain.

When he was first put up to the Papal council, it was reported he was connected with several Left wing socialist ideals. That he was a supporter of Black Liberation Politics was widely stated. At the time, I wondered how he was going to handle reparations. I also think his antipathy with the U.S. is because of that.
