Heh, I saw that earlier today on Wheedon's fansite. Wash was a good choice to make if you had to pick someone from Firefly to bite it and there is a WHOLE MESS of peeps about to bite it on Game of Thrones.

I was sad about Wash =( I mean, I know that makes it the right person to kill, but he was FUNNY! You don't kill FUNNY!

We've had so much character compression in GoT that some of the guys are going to have to die twice.

George R. R. Martin is as much a cult writer now, as was Frank Herbert before the 1984 movie was made of Dune. What made most people deliriously happy, was that Herbert had great input into the screen writing, so that it was his work - pure and simple. Same thing happened with The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with devoted fans, like Peter Jackson, standing in for Tolkien, so that the movies would be true to the novels.

George R. R, Martin is a good screenwriter in his own right, which bodes well for his presence being honored during the production. What may hurt his work being preserved is his own inability to follow schedules. His books within Fire and Ice averaged four or five years between. He refused to take time off from his other irons in the fire, to keep up with his signature series. His last book was an exception - it was one long book broken up into two pieces. After he designed the entire book, he took out characters wholesale and wrote the exact same book from their different POV.

The last book will probably end the series, and I can guess at many different endings. Danerys returned to Westros with a Stark as her king would seem the best bet. Possibly with the Imp as a strong support-role behind the throne - antithesis to Littlefinger. Martin has given us hints: Dragons must have riders who can control them, and Starks have that ability with their direwolves. Bran moreso. Jon as King of the North seems aptly matched with the Queen of Fire.

For anyone without HBO, the first season was out on DVD three months ago and could be ordered and picked up at Walmart for $32.00.

I see that Episode 6 of season 2 is out on Demonoid, in HD. There are several others, but they are not of the same quality. But this one is over 1GB in size. The others are not out yet apparently.

Do not download any GoT episodes unless you pay for them. HBO will come after you.

Hahahahahahahaha...lorie. I've never met a character more deserving of what's coming to her.

Game of Thrones is over, again. So sad. But I'm glad they blew their effects budget on the final scene and Dyneries' escape from the mages tower. So cool. She's the only one who deserves a seat On that throne. with the possible exception of Jon Snow, but he acts like such a pussy sometimes. Guess that's what happens when you're a bastard...

Sigh.

Arya, she's going to be a badass. Can't wait.

Season 3 please?!?!

I extremely dislike Daenerys. Her dragons are pretty cool, but she? She is an overly entitled, overly arrogrant spoiled brat with no sense or idea of what she is doing, and subject flights of feminine whimsy.

I myself am pulling for Stannis as the only logical conclusion to who could sit on the throne, but who knows with this series.

Take it up with George R.R. Martin.

He'll probably put Dany as the ruler of Westeros to placate his female fans.

I dunno... Daenerys as overly entitled and arrogant? She is the character who Martin designed: an unspoiled pawn of her brother, who eventually uncovered her own magical ability in order to confront him and inherit the throne of Westeros. There's a lot of the Harry Potter pathos in there, of her family's destruction at the hands of those currently ruling on her throne, and the responsibility to her people. Martin painted her as a positive factor - reacting to "disgusting" and bullying - not generating it. Any person astride a throne could appear arrogant if the responsibility to the people is discounted. Martin always made her a sympathetic figure - but one with the potential to become ruler.

Martin also leaves clues to his end game. Three dragons requires three riders. Daenerya is one. Bran has the mystical potential to be a rider, and could easily be a second rider. John Snow appears to have the upper hand in being rider three.

I noticed this from the first season, before becoming bored. I assume it hasn't changed one bit. S13

I got bored after one episode. I can't stand this fake middle-age thing.

Now some british humor...
