The figures are that Canada is about 34% less rich on a per capita basis than Americans. The poiint being, if we let Canada in, we lower our own net wealth per capita.

Latest figures, ppp adjusted, US GDP per capita 43k, Canada 32K.

As far as the socialist is concerned, of course there are levels of socialism... but it's the mindset I'm concerned with... I don't know how many times I've heard Canadians say they have "free" health care or that they think the if the U.S. is stupid enough to provide their defense for them they should take advantage of it. These reveal an world view which is poisonous and which I do not want to infect the U.S..
