Why Progressives Hate the Constitution
Progressives, and other Collectivists, have nothing but disdain and hatred for the US Constitution. Why? Because it tends to prevent them from imposing their idea of the "Ideal State" onto the rest of us. To them, as expressed today by Gommi,

Gommi Wrote:Libertarians have the false perception that the American government is overbearing. The reality is that many government controls and regulations have been eliminated, allowing producers to compete and innovate freely as envisioned by the Austrian economists. Unfortunately this experiment did not achieve its desired affect, leading to an increase in unemployment and an unstable financial system.

To completely reject government is to subject the economy to extreme pressures. Prominent economist John Kenneth Galbraith expanded on Keynes' theories to describe how public spending can have a positive social impact in addition to stimulating the economy. Even if Keynesian policies fail to generate wealth immediately, they can contribute immensely to economic performance by empowering poor communities, promoting education, and managing fluctuations in the market.

This is, of course, absolutely false. Government continues to grow like a cancer to the body. And like cancer, it will eventually consume the organism it inhabits.

But there is one big problem to achieving the Ultimate Utopian State: the Constitution. It places brakes upon the ever encroachment of the State upon the citizenry. And That must be eliminated.

The first president to openly criticize the Constitution was the Progressive, Woodrow Wilson:

Quote:“The American Constitution is little more than ‘political witchcraft’ from the past, and ought to be discarded so that we can get on with the Progressive project of building a ‘national state.’”

He also started the perception of the "Living" document.

Quote: ‘Government is not a machine, but a living thing. It falls, not under the theory of the universe, but under the theory of organic life. It is accountable to Darwin.’

Barack Obama said during a 2001 Chicago Public Radio interview,

Quote:“ . . . the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution.”

“ . . . generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.”

So how do the Progressives/Fascists expect to sweep away the Negative Restraints of our Constitution? Through the only means available, short of declaring it null and void: the courts. If they tried the former, they would have the citizenry rise up and throw them out. But the slow trickle of a "stacked" court would eventually castrate the document, and open the door to the Utopian Collectivist entity.

Here is a recent interview where Howard Dean explains the process at the end of the video. Let the courts decide whether or not ObamaCare is constitution. And if the courts are "packed" they can make a final ruling and eliminate more of our Liberties, all in the name of what is best for us.

We can no longer afford to allow one more Progressive/Collectivist judge to take up another seat in the High Court, if we wish to preserve our Liberties, and roll back what has already been lost to us.
