Even orange?

:?
Probably not. They are referring to the Juice, who is now in jail for life. Why are they asking for his eternal remediation? Obviously this guy should come to AI-Jane and learn the correct spelling of Jooooos.

Nope, just female. Go cranberry juice!
The real reasons Arabs lose their wars has to do with geographic/political forces.
Ghoullio, cranberry juice rules.
Anyone who disagrees is worse than Hitler.

Does Gamal Abdel Nasser count as a geographic/political force?

You're telling me. And if I take antibiotics then I have a yeast infection to deal with. No, I routinely drink cranberry juice thank you. As I said before, I like the taste so it is completely painless for me.
Cranberry-grape juice tastes good. So does Cranberry-blueberry juice. The only good reason to drink straight cranberry juice is that it helps alleviate kidney infections, particularly in women. It changes the PH or something. (This is what I have been told by nurses.)
Anon,

You always have these wonderfully neat explanations for all human events. I like that. Now,using your explanation above, explain how the Arabs invaded, occupied and have ruled successfully to this day the entire North African landmass, including Egypt&Sudan as well as successfully spread their Arab centric faith all the way to the southern Philippines?

Your professors forgot to tell you about the success of the Arabs and today as well as back then, they were Islamic peoples. Same culture, same geography. Same genetics. 2 seperate success ratios.

Ever hear of Arabic numerals? These people have had a great era as Muslims, they have had a poor era as Muslims. Europe was as extremely backward and dying as it could be in 800 AD and top of the line in 1600 AD,same people, same basic faith, same genetics. Same geography.

So,tell us about your theory how it applies to both examples.
Here's a theory: The moment the lands conquered by "Islam" became truly Islamic, all intellectual developments stopped?

The heyday is Islam only lasted while subject populations were not Islamicized yet.
I had posted this on another thread, years ago, but thought I would dust it off again. Why Arabs Lose Wars.

It's a great read, and most informative.

If you add this to the observation of Victor David Hanson, on how western armies conduct war, it is no wonder that Arabs ALWAYS get their clocks cleaned when confronting western military forces. And this included Israel, which is from western society.

Why Study War?, Victor Davis Hanson (Military history teaches us about honor, sacrifice, and the inevitability of conflict.)
Gunnen,

Nope, the Arabs had centuries of success. They had a heyday, just like we're having. Oddly enough, they, unlike their Christian counterparts, protected and nourished education and knowledge back then. In 900 AD,the Christian Europeans were the ignorant, judgmental ,hate filled monsters of that region, not the Muslims.

Something has changed in each camp largely.

John,

Arabs don't always lose wars.

I have absolutely no experience in this, but it strikes me that emotion has alot to do with it. It has to be exceedingly difficult to make cool, professional, effective decisions when you are out for revenge or have a permanent chip on your shoulder. Jihad probably has some tactical advantages when it comes to getting people juiced up enough for suicide attacks ... but in general, it seems to me that people that are amped up to that level are unlikely to make competent strategic or tactical decisions. The centralized control aspect also seems like it creates a double whammy under those conditions. Either angry/crazy leaders that won't listen to the folks doing the ground level fighting ... or angry/crazy forces that can't or won't properly follow the master game plan.
An Islamic heyday is myth. In 900 AD, the educational centers of the world were Christian. Many of the large Christian Cities had been overrun by the sword and fire of the Islamic hordes. The parts of the overrun culture that the Muslims needed were adopted as their own - yet denigrated as heretical. While the Arabs took credit for Christian science, the beleaguered Christian cities were artificially dumbed-down.

There were one or two universities in all of the Islamic world, and they refused to use scientific principles or anatomical study. There is NO way an argument can be made that adopted education was the result of Islamic studies. The vaunted Arabic numerals were not an Islamic discovery either - they were Hindu and adopted as well. There were brilliant individuals who fought their system to become famous. Too bad they didn't have a more conducive support system behind them.

Arabs made a career of stealing and utilization - the dearth of inventions from all Arab countries define the culture.
Wm, I think there was an Arab/Muslim heyday. It was started about 750 AD and lasted about 200 years. Centered in Baghdad. It was during the Abbasid Caliphate. At that time, the Arabs were interested in rescuing (translating) all the great works from the Greeks and Romans. Without them, much of that may have been lost. They did make some small advances in science, math and medicine in that time. After that, politics and power struggles got in the way and the Muslim empire started downhill, being repressive and non-inventive. They eventually fell behind the Europeans enough to be beaten by them on numerous fronts.

I don't submit this as my only evidence. There are numerous books out there on the subject.
