Sorry to disappoint you all climate sceptics, but all data is compared with the baseline 1961-1990 out of practical reasons.

It is not me choosing that. And I am perfectly neutral also when I just tell that it is as simple as that.

Come back in 2021. Then we will compare with 1991-2020 instead...

What are these practical reasons?

Looks more like it is reasons of convenience for the IPCC.

They wouldn't want the inconvenient truth of a "base line" not of their choosing.

If one looks like a Warmaholic duck, and walks like a Warmaholic duck, and quacks like a Warmaholic duck - well then, one is a Warmabolic duck!

Sorry, Track_Duck, but that is just the way it is!

Hehe...

John Duck:

Before 1961-1990, it was 1931-1960. For some reason a 30 yr period was decided as being a good baseline. 10 years is too short.

Whenever you say: 'June 2008 was 1 degree warmer than normal in North Carolina' it means compared to the 1961-1990 baseline.

Which in 2021 will be changed to 1991-2020.

Was that base line using global temps or selected local temps, or only 80% of the globe temps?

Of course, it's global.

So why then, would an honestly "neutral" person resort to using local and partial (80%) of the globe temps in order to form an opinion as you've done numerous times here?

Answer: because Track_Duck isn't either neutral or honest, at least not with the people on this board.

You've laid an egg here, Track_Duck, a long time ago, and it's starting to smell like sulfur.

John Duck;

What is neutral or not I am the one to decide.

Understand?

You know, Track_Duck, if you keep sitting on that egg you'll keep it warm, otherwise it will cool.

"Warmaholic duck lets egg's cool" - news at eleven!

Seriously, TS, you seem to be having more fun with your "I am neutral" shtick, than I am.

I don't believe anyone here is buying it, but it does help us all run our post count up.

There's a post count? Who knew?
I just checked my post count. I definately talk too much. S6

Yeah you are about double me per year.
I'm hoping our yearly post count will have a positive effect on our Christmas bonus.

Oh now that is a thought. S2

Well...

That was not nice of you to say so...

Maybe I should emigrate to Switzerland...

(Switzerland=most neutral country in the world)
