Quote:Olympics 'terror plot' foiled
Chinese police have captured and killed alleged Islamic terrorists plotting attacks targeting the Beijing Olympic Games, a senior Communist Party official has said.

Wang Lequan, the top official in the far western region of Xinjiang, said materials seized in the January 27 raid in the regional capital, Urumqi, suggested the plotters' purpose was to "specifically to sabotage the staging of the Beijing Olympics".

"Their goal was very clear," Wang told reporters in Beijing, but offered no specific evidence. Earlier reports on the raid had made no mention of Olympic targets.

The Global Times newspaper published by the Communist Party earlier reported that the group had planned bombings and other "violent terrorist incidents" on February 5, the last business day before the start of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The paper said police confiscated guns, homemade bombs, training materials and "extremist religious ideological materials" during the raid, in which two members of the gang were killed and 15 arrested. Authorities have not identified those killed and arrested or the targets of the alleged planned attacks.

Wang said the group had acted on orders from a Uighur separatist group based in Pakistan and Afghanistan called the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, or Etim. The group has been labelled a terrorist organisation by both the United Nations and the US. East Turkestan is another name for Xinjiang.

Chinese forces have for years been battling a low-intensity separatist movement among Xinjiang's Uighurs, a Turkic-Muslim people culturally and ethnically distinct from China's Han majority. China says its main terror threat comes from Etim, although the group is not believed to have more than a few dozen members.

Chinese forces reported raiding an Etim training camp last year and killing 18 militants allegedly linked to al Qaida and the Taliban.

China has ratcheted up anti-terror preparations ahead of the August Games, with the nation's top police official last year labelling terrorism the biggest threat facing the event.

Experts have said the threat of terrorism is relatively low, given China's tight social controls, but warned that Beijing's counter-terrorism capabilities are weak, especially in intelligence-gathering and analysis.

I bet by now the fifteen arrested are wishing they were killed.
Oh,they'll be talking. Probably not due to torture, torure doesn't work.

Probably cause they converted to the CCCP memebership real fast or something.

CCCP membership was something worthful in the former Soviet Union. CCCP means as you all kno Soyuz Sovietskich Sotsialisticheskich Respublik. But this is about China which is and was something different, even when it comes to the communist party.

Actually, the CCCP was the country, where there is a citizenship, not membership. You're talking about the KPSS, Communist Party of the Soviet Union. CCP in China.
You held quite a lot of ETIM folks at Guantanamo, more than 20. I wonder where you picked them up? Good to see you heart is with the communists, and not the Muslims. Uigurs as Caucasian people are very different from the Han indeed, more so than Tibetans. Like the Tibetans, their land was occupied by Mao in 1949, unlike the Tibetans and because there happen to be Muslims amongst them, they don't enjoy the right of freedom. I see.
Picked them up in Afghanistan. I would either execute them or send them to Beijing myself.

Half psyche, half torture does work. To get information from people who have it requires both a change of priorities of motivation and to shatter barriers that allow resistance. What most don't know is that both are interconnected. A simple traumatic experience can induce a plastic state where previous barriers become nonexistent. Most arrested perps are traumatized just by the arrest process. The stronger the barriers, the more the mind needs to be distracted. Physical trauma is only one effective form of distraction. The major focus is always on priorities of motivation.

A Jihadist is rooted in religious mysticism, but that is possible to target, as long as the prisoner is not aware that he is being purposefully traumatized. The media attention to waterboarding, and how detention works, screws up the ability to penetrate barriers. It is the uncertainty that helps traumatize.

When Mitch Rapp shoots a terrorist's partner and then shoots his kneecap, the traumatic state is established quickly. In the case of finding where the nuclear bomb is, quick trumps PC every time.

I was making fun of the "McCain" think,of course torture works,it's how all tyrants manage to stay in power. It's how we've saved thousands of lives, torturing 3 al qaeda operatives mentally via waterboarding technique.

The physical part I'm positive works even better. This idea it gets false info(whatever you want to hear) pre supposes the interrogators are stupid and cannot cross reference info from other sources.

Tell Stalin it doesn't work or Hitler. In fact, tell their victims it doesn't work.
