Two weekends ago I watched a National Geographic program entitled Extraterrestrial. It was an excellent two part, two hour series.

But what peaked my attention was the relatively new science about Red Dwarfs and the possibility of Extraterrestrial life in the cosmos. The last I knew, only G Class stars were seriously considered as perfect candidates for life, even though they have a relatively short life of somewhere around 6-10 billion years.

That may seem like a lot of time, yet the stars with the longest lifespan are Red Dwarfs, which average around 100 billion years. Now that I have seen this series and have learned some more about Red Dwarfs, I am somewhat spellbound. Obviously, the possibilities are endless, and this subject is quite fertile ground for the SF community, as it is not written about with any degree of detail. At least I don't know of it.

Here are some nice articles about Red Dwarfs and their possibility of harbouring life in the galaxy.

I wonder if they will have something on it in the August edition, I got the July edition on Saturday I think, and there was nothing like that in it. This will interesting to read about.
Holy crap, John. I just had a horrid thought. You're into sci-fi, a rampant individualist, and a combat vet.

I'm gonna be you when I get old!

Man, what a let down... Wink1

Allow me to be the first to offer my condolences to you. S6 Oh well, you are a lifer, and I wasn't. I let my Dad handle that one. My biggest mistke was not going Regular Army. It's not easy to reach very high as a reservist.

Well, actually you have more choices. There is direct TV and The Disn Network. Both are satelite services and I am on Direct TV. I like the satelite, myself. The only disadvantage is that you can only have one different channel for each receiver on the dish. Wigh cable, you get one line in and can branch them out to many TVs, but since I have dual feed, I have one set up in the living room, and a seperate receiver down in my basement shop, where I work.

However, where you are really hurting is in your dial-up modem. I really like my cable internet system, as it is fast and has only gone down on me twice in the last couple of years. It is nice.
