More I read, the more I wish we would leave the place to it's own devices and if there are future terror attacks associated with any of former Iraq, off with the place at the push of a button.

Oddly, the ideal solution is that in which Joe Biden is touting: the partition of the three groups into seperate federal autonomous areas. I agree, but would divide it into more sections, so as to include the Assyrians as well.

Nothing is going to work out in reality until, at the very least, the Suisse model is implimented, or we make seperate countries there. It's going to happen eventually anyway.
John,

Honestly, none of this "dividing" is going to work either. We keep thinking like westerners.

Arabic Muslims are never satisfied.

I don't see any nice way for us to exit now. The experiment is done, there isn't 1 person in Iraq or our government who still thinks Iraq can be a democratic unified state.
Given time, perhaps 100 years or so, they could become democratic.
Kamil,

Perhaps, but I bet cash that it will be an Arab Shiite democracy, not the combo of various groups.
