Okay, then just seize the land and not the people. Who wants radioactive waste anyway?
I would not say the war was totally in vain. It gave the military a chance to practice new technologies and new strategies, for the 21st century.

Plus, it has scared people of our stupidity - do not mess with the United States, or it will lash out irrationally and destructively.
In vain? - we are winning the war.

Do you mean to tell us that you swallow the disinformation from the Main Stream Media?

There is a difference between a few terrorist cells trying to destabilize prior to the new legislature being seated and a Civil War.
Disinformation? the 80+ people they found dead yesterday, executed by their neighbors, is 'disinformation'?
Yes. The claim that this is impending Civil War is completely disinformational.

Call it what it is: a tiny minority trying desperately to influence relations between the two sects who are cementing closer relations each day. The terrorists are themselves terrified of losing any chance of any relevance. As they are losing popularity with the masses, they try more drastic measures that makes their chance of suceeding less and less.

I think there's probably a reason we didn't use this kind of (indirect) method with Iraq.

I could swear I remember the mainstream media telling us that 9/11 was an act of war.

If terrorists succeed in assasinating the Iraqi president (something well within the realm of possibility,) they will have acheived more than they did on 9/11.
Keep saying that, WMLambert. You can't argue with real deaths.

Real deaths? What are you saying, Anon?

There have been real deaths for 4.5 years now.

When you find scores of people killed by their neighbors(not by insurgents), execution style, because they were of different ethnicity, how does one argue against that?
Anon...I don't argue against that...I argue FOR it. Murderors need to be executed...not blown up at random with innocents.
Ken
Anon you argue against that by explaining that the killings were meant to incite civil unrest. They were not caused by civil unrest. The victims were not killed because of their ethnicity - they were killed because the cowardly terrorists were looking indiscriminately for anyone who was not armed or in a safe area. There are not two sides of the country ready to fight each other. The country is united, except for the few terrorists who want to stir something up. They know that are losing. They are running out of willing recruits and support, so they are desperate and kill innocent victims trying to make it look as if they represent some kind of mass movement.
I want to point out the obvious JOY this Thaq takes in making the claim of our soldiers dying in vain.

This puke's ego is greater than his character. Not uncommon, but on this board it is.

What a disgusting character.
