Thailand's PM Thaksin under heavy fire by organized protesters.
It is interesting to see that in Thailand, a country with a very thin democratic history, there does appear to be a possible peaceful avenue to remove what many Thais believe is a corrupt and law breaking leader.

Interestingly, the leading opposition party like the US (totally out of power), is called the democratic party.

But who will they replace him with? The choice for most Third worlders is either a corrupt and law-breaking leader chosen by the West, or a radical and bigoted one chosed by themselves.
I don't think Thaksin is a US puppet, so this stereotype doesn't apply to Thailand.

I am sure the Thai people are quite capable of holding a new election and selecting a new leader. Sure, he might be just as bad or worse, but those are the breaks.
Well, whoever he is, I doubt he's been chosen by the Thai people. I do think he is a Western man.

How am I optimistic? Or is that sarcasm? It is very difficult to detect sarcasm online...

Well, I never claimed to have a sense of humor. S6 But what do you mean about honest people in Thailand?

First, I have a sense of humour that will not quit! And it is macabre at times. Must be my military experiences. Anyway, I can usually get along with anyone, if they will allow me to beat them over the head a few times to get things started. S6

Anyway, that is probably why TQ and I can get along so well. I realize that he is a funny sort of fellow, and other's can't see the obvious.

Secone, there has to be Some honest people in Thailand, who are up the ladder in government. They can't all be corrupt. That is what I meant.
