Leave it to the MSM to come up with all this junk. If Atlantis existed, it would be no further west than the Canary Islands, but most likely western Spain or North Africa. There may very well have been a classic example that got Plato's middle leg extended outward. But the key dividing point would be the invention of written language, and when it first appeared.

Since the end of the last Glaciation(Not Ice Age), the sea has risen around 150 meters due to all that ice melting. Obviously there should be all sorts of early civilizations that were innundated/submerged before 3000BC. The biggest challenge is going to be the almost impossible task of seperating fact from fiction from all those wacko news whores.

The first real civilization was most likely what arose in the Black Sea area. Perhaps we should really concentrate there.
