I'm watching "King Solomon's Mines" quite now on TV, new version, produced in 2004:

I'm a little bit surpised, the main hero - Allan Quatermain is fighting ... russian gangsters in this version. Poor mister Haggard, I hope he is not alive. S2 S2 S2
I'm not a doctor, but it looks like american paranoia. Or it's another example of politcorrectness... S2
I'm afraid new version of "Gone with the wind" will be in the same style. :?

'It's typical Hollywood crap. Just be thankful that Oliver Stone did not direct it . Wink1

Sure crap, but train of thought in Hollywood production became too monotonous, the same guys in kosovorotka and kepka...
I like similar scenes in movies about Bond, it was mostly appropriately and always funny. But here?
BTW, have you read opinions about movie? Audience is happy...

No, I don't. I do not waste my money on movies the first time around. Perhaps on DVD, but otherwise, no.

I only have so much time to do what I wish, and the 19 LCD I am currently looking into gets more attention than the big screen, or the TV.

Now, the Science, or History Channel, that is different.

I do not waste my money as well, but in another way. :? This time I watched it on TV.
BH,

What's the objection,it's a silly fictional movie like Santa Claus?

Palladin, it's movie based on very popular book by Haggard. I'm sure your children have read this book and you watched previous version of this movie, I remember Sharon Stone played... But yesterday's version was like Voyna and Mir ("War and Peace") by Tolstoy, when russian army is fighting martians in Borodinsk battle. S2

Did not know Tolstoy played with SciFi too.... Who won, anyway? Wink1

OT: the pseudo-historical garbage that offended me mostly recently was the 2005 miniseries "Empire". While Stone made his Alexander into a doubting gay, this other masterpiece made Augustus a champion swordsman. Donno which is worse...
For a real serious set of plays ,see the "ROME" series. It is truly a work of art and quite accurate history.

I'd like to see a good movie on Alexander, that guy absolutely is one of the most fascinating men in human history . What drove him is hard to figure out,his talent was beyond all others and he was youthful. I heard a pastor say once that Alexander recognized himself in one of Daniel's prophecies, but I can't say how he came upon that knowledge.
