No idea, but it's probably not. Mutation is one thing that occurs in nature all the time. So it could be from practically anywhere.

Yet one more Big Boy showing up at the local golf course.  'It was literally a dinosaur.' Large alligator sneaks up on golfers at Kiawah Island golf course.

The interesting thing is that if they want to get from Point A to Point B, they are so used to being around humans that they just strike out and head for the next waterway.  And as long as humans leave them alone, they will cause nobody any trouble.  S13

Interesting. I recently visited the Crocodilian exhibit at Mote Aquarium in Sarasota and they have two species of "crocs" in the same enclosure. When asked if they will peacefully co-exist, we were told that as long as they remain roughly the same size they won't bother each other.

I wonder if they act the same way around humans?
