Quote:Genghis Khan has been branded the greenest invader in history - after his murderous conquests killed so many people that huge swathes of cultivated land returned to forest.

The Mongol leader, who established a vast empire between the 13th and 14th centuries, helped remove nearly 700million tons of carbon from the atmosphere, claims a new study.

The deaths of 40million people meant that large areas of cultivated land grew thick once again with trees, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

And, although his methods may be difficult for environmentalists to accept, ecologists believe it may be the first ever case of successful manmade global cooling.

‘It's a common misconception that the human impact on climate began with the large-scale burning of coal and oil in the industrial era,’ said Julia Pongratz, who headed the research by the Carnegie Institution's Department of Global Ecology.

Hilarious. I have to wonder if this method would be acceptable to the greenies of today.
YES, it is acceptable to them.

Our greenies are a tad more sophisticated though, we teach and fund killing the human before it is birthed, we did teach pre Hitler eugenics to control all "lower evolved humanity" according to Darwin's "The Descent of Man" and the last eugenics law was only removed from the books in 1983 in Oregon.

If you listen to our greeny campaigners, they all hate humanity and love earth. I think maybe they hate themselves as well. They just use projection onto the rest of us.
Eugenics laws being removed in the US would explain a lot with what's going on in our country.

And it would Pat, aside from the fact they simply don't have it in them to do the deed. Khan led armies, conquered, left hundreds of babies if not a thousand babies his wake, and put his name in the history books. Modern greenies are telling themselves to no have kids and rely on state enforcement (someone other than them) to act out these mental orgasms they have.
It is ironic that trees grew up to replace farm and grassland, if that is indeed true.. GK's hordes depended on great stretches of grassland in order to feed their mounts. Perhaps the trampled farmland grew up into grassland, not forest. The assertion in the article concerning the revival of forests needs some documentation.

On the practical side, the realistic side, it may not be the case that the greenies/lefties care so much about the saplings purportedly sprouting in Mr. Khan's wake. I suspect is their envy of his legendary sexual exploits.
Yea, not many like fucking them. It's a special group.
I doubt that killing poeple today in desertic areas where we do war at the moment would help trees growing all of a sudden.
I am sure it would do plenty of good elsewhere.

Realize that the Mongols then conquered forest and steppe territory though.
Steppes and prairies take a lot of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The trampling of the grass by the thousands of horses and the cattle that followed the warriors (by cattle, please include women walking on foot) turned the land into mud and certainly reduced the CO2 intake.
Yea but they killed millions to more than make up for it.
