Is China on the verge of a crash?
Quote:Is China heading for global empire or Soviet collapse?

Dan Blumenthal’s new book wants us to be pessimistic, realistic, and proactive

cademics, journalists, and policy wonks tend to be optimistic about China. For instance, back in 2016, Anja Manuel expected China to end up as large, long-lasting, and benign as the British Empire. Dan Blumenthal offers a useful corrective, rich in historical and geopolitical anchors, yet accessible. From the perspective of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), China is restoring its ancient state, but Blumenthal considers both the precedent and the tribute act as illegitimate. China is an “empire pretending to be a nation-state.”

We been told by so-called experts that China's economy will eventually collapse. During the past

20 years not only has China not collapse, its economy has grown five-fold. Millions of Chinese have been lifted out of poverty and have joined the middle-class while western standard of living has declined for the average person while its elite has become more fabulously wealthy.
The true purpose of democracy is not to select the best leaders — a clearly debatable obligation — but to facilitate the prompt and peaceful removal of obviously bad ones.

Hey, the larger they become, the Harder They Fall in the long run.  CCP is inefficient, higly corrupt and Collectivist in leadership.  Collectivism has proven to NEVER Last very long.  Either they step beyond their bounds, or are so inefficient that they simply fall apart.  It is impossible for a country, such as Communist/Collectivist China, to become efficient, to the point of being The world leader.  They must use the principles of total State control or the citizenry will overthrow them.

The biggest problem is what they do When they begin falling apart.  With Russia, they did not go to war with everyone in order to keep the status quo.  China may be different, but there is a good chance they will implode before they are able to do their utmost dirty-work.  I say, let them do their thing, and make it difficult for them to expand through conquest.  They are bound to implode.

I agree that China is huge and the bigger they are the harder they fall. However; quantity produces its own quality. China is so large that as it topples over, it w2ill not splash outside its own boundaries, and the people who pick up the pieces, by definition, will be the same elites that ruined it in the first place. As sad as it is to accept, circumstances won't be enough to change the basic equation. Politics will change who holds the little red book, but the actors will come from the same cattle call.

To change China, it has to get smaller. That can happen by its breaking up into smaller nation-states or intellectually by the penetration of the internet and communication.

I believe that eventually it will break up into a number of smaller states.  A country as big as China is currently is impossible to govern well.
