International Political Cartoons

Quote:Tommy oddity, you know what you're talking about?

I do and you failed to see the difference between America and Europe.

Not surprising really.

Quote:What religions fought the 100 years war?

Gosh what a hard question.... Umm lets see.Christian religions?

Again you failed to understand the difference between America and Europe.

Quote:You had to learn how to hide the conquest of territory, resources, and profits behind the veneer of the struggle of cultures and religions,

It was hidden? You mean MANIFEST DESTINY ideology was hidden?

The Lewis and Clark expedition a total secret.

The Luisiana Purchase,The Gadsen Purchase and buying Alaska. All done in total secret.

Sarcasm alert!

Yup no wonder I had to buy a quarter to get the secret documents. To later discover that government run public schools taught the studenst that we took the land away from the indians. And that we bought most of the remaining land from France,Russian and Mexico.

You mean Americans never tried to convert those savages who lived there? The ones who often dropped their sun worship. To be herded into reservation starting in the early 1800's.

When we came along with better weapons.Better intelligence and apparently a better religion.Along with diseases they had no immunity against.Plus the unusual attachment to the alcohol. The Indians quickly succumbed.

That the media almost from the start were exposing the greed and excesses of people who were taking advantage of the situation.

Gosh all of it hidden so well that even Quadrat does not know.

Quote:and finally, with the War of Terror and Iraq, you understood.

Yeah riiiight!

Iraq and terrorists took away that buffer zone we had by being thousands of miles away. And tolerating the existence of thugs like Saddam Hussein who had for 12 years flouted the many U.N. resolutions. We openly protested in the U.N. over and over. But when we were attacked in NY city. That was enough talking and time for direct action.

Quite simply you are a simpleton when it is obvious that Europe had for centuries a bunch of wars many of them religious.Because they had no religious tolerance as a creed to live with. While in America the land of religious freedom. There never has been a single one.

How can you miss the obvious difference? S6

In europe nations had to be either Catholic or Protestant. Then nations had to try and force conversion of entire nations they attack. To have the same religions as them the attacker.

Never happens in America because in the constitution and in other papers. Is the idea that Americans have the freedom to a religion of their choice and the government stands by doing nothing against it or to push for a particular creed.

Europe that for over 700 years tried hard to conquer each other.Sure has a lot of dead bodies to account for.Plus the cruel intolerance against the always small jewish groups who lived in the cities.

Quote:Meanwhile, we moved on. I don't expect you to understand before the year 2,400.

Really after 2 world wars.Where America had to step in and save your stupid intolerant incompetant asses. Then afterwards passed the "Marshall Plan" to help Europe get back on their feet economically.WE sure helped Japan a lot!

Meanwhile the stupid French right after WW1 wanted to screw the defeated Germans with heavy reparations.Woodrow Wilson tried to reduce the harshness of the demands and allow Germany rebuild at a more reasonable pace.France refused and America stood by and watched German economy go into the floor.

Thus setting up a bitter revival and long memories of the french cruelty. To allow for a strange demented man with a tiny mustache to work his way into power.Adolf used that undeniable French cruelty to gain power and exact revenge.

Yeah riiiight.

How can you be so far off the mark?

Now it is beginning to appear that once again Europe will need America to bail out their asses when the reality about their stupid carbon tax schemes will blow up in their faces. All because of that dreaded CO2 bogeyman.

How about YOU stop your irrational hypocritical Anti-Americanism.We saved your asses several times now and frankly we are tired of being bashed by you european losers. :x

Tommy, this is a political cartoon thread, so at least have the decency to punctuate your humbug with a cartoon.

Pepe is right Tommy, if you are going to be outraged by outrageous cartoon huffin' and puffin' by the likes of "Q" and Pepe, you need to give them a "one upsmanship" in return. S6

Or keep it short, since the Euro attention span is not that long. Wink1

Obviously from the very same Bloke, who would be doing ten Hail Britannias, should the Brits ever decide to make the venture into space.

It's 'Rule Britannia'! Hail is too modest for the former arrogant bastions of imperial power.

I am about as patriotic as the next guy, which is to say not at all...
In Britain there is a distain for patriotism because it is seen as being unquestioning or 'koolaid drinking'. Having seen wars and various disasterous adventures over the last 500 years all in the good faith of the country made people weary and generally cyincal of the establishment. It is also hard to get excited about a monarchy that never lifts a finger and uses taxes to live in exhuberant wealth. You don't see much flag waving in the UK (except in football).

Worst of all, the politicians seem to get off on it...

That is your(third person) problem, and why you blokes are in such danger of disintergration. You have no real core values, other than that of the Collective/hive.

Further, you automatically Assume(you know what that means, right?) that you are the 'Normal' one, and look at other opinions as radical. Wink1

Firstly, there are no core values that is true, not even of the collective/hive that you rattle on about (we are not bees man!) Secondly the consideration of normality is all relative, I was stating the outlook, not claiming that you are all a bunch of patriotic flagsuckers.

I get the definition of assume, thanks!

Most just think flag waving is for suckers Wink1 which is what centuries of hindsight tells...

I have to admit I find that hilarious. And the key to it's success is that it has more than a ring of truth to it, because I do not know of anyone who would doubt them resorting to such tactics.

I second that. Would actually be a market niche and with whatever theme printed on them, sell better than neutral ones. I'm sure the folks running around with them always feel a bit embarassed.
