Hello from Malaysia
#21
I'm on Penang again, and have the sad duty to report more right-wing bullshit, the energy those clowns demonstrate to remove freedom seems inexhaustible.
Airport Bangkok. I buy some skin cream at Boots, and the girl at the counter asks where I'm heading. "None of your business", I mutter. While girl is still trying to figure out what destination that is, an elderly white lady explains to me that they have to know, because different countries have different requirements to security. Yes, now I remember the liquid explosives scare. "Penang" I tell the girl, and she packs my cream in a sealed plastic pack with some security crap printed on it. I have to rip it open, because the point of me buying cream was to apply it to the skin before the flight, and throw the security wrap away. Put the cream in my hand baggage, and pass the last X-ray check w/o trouble. I wonder what the point is.
On the flight, one more questionaire to fill in, detailed health questions.
Penang airport. An important looking team of docs and nurses in lab coats and face masks awaits us behind a large infrared camera. Studying my questionaire one asks me, "telephone number at home"? "Don't have", I reply. "Mobile phone"? "Don't have". "E-mail address?" "Don't have". "You must have something. How can we contact you"?
"Huh? What for? I ask". No reply from her.

Hmm...

If you don't have an email address, how did you manage to join this board?

Methinks you've not been entirely truthful.

I'm shocked.

At least I can smoke my favourites again, KRETEK from the Gudang Garam factory in Indonesia. Sold only down there. Mine are probably smuggled, no tax sticker. Who believes there are no fancy cigarettes, should try them. New kind, "mild". Contains 18mg tar and 1.2mg nicotine, I don't remember an extra strong brand in Europe with such high contents. Smoked the medium and full strength varieties of KRETEK before, they might contain two or three times of the good stuff. Unique taste.

Probably better than Miami's or Blondie's, what else was there......I dunno, alot of junk brands. A regular carton of ciggerrettes was not always easy to find.
