I support stroll's proposition, show some pictures!

I speak German, Italian, English and French. I understand some Dutch. Planning to learn Spanish, maybe Arab (want to become a good dhimmi)

Well, I'm going to be off to China in a little bit.

I've accepted a position teaching English at a teachers college in Hunan province, (known for its spicy food and mountainous terrain) and if all goes well I'll be over there for a year. These positions are actually really easy to come by, you just have to speak English and hold a bachelor's degree. I'm presently working frantically to prepare, working on my Chinese, learning to pretend like I know how to teach, etc. I'll hopefully be able to continue at least sporadic posting while I'm over there, in order to promote this board's infestation of foreign values...

I'll try to post pics at some point.

Have a safe and profitable trip. Teach some libertarian values, while you are at it. Wink1

Exactly when are you leaving?

Well, of course my first concern will always be personal safety, however, you can sometimes say more by what you don't say than what you do.

I will be leaving in early July.

Be safe. And, who will take care of your little turtle while you are gone?

He's always been an entertainment to me as well as a wonderment.

In my field, there are more jobs out there.

As a musician, you may be correct there. A shame.

Just remember the old saying by the late Frank Lloyd Wright, "This country is tilted downward, toward the west. All loose nuts roll to California." Wink1

Yeah, there are some weird folk in California. Kansas is a whole different breed, though. While the west is more insane, the midwest are criminally insane.

I havent posted on this thread yet, so here goes:

I was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1980. The day after I graduated highschool, I moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth and stayed there for 7 years. I met my wife there. I learned job skills there. I will be forever grateful to the Metroplex and to Texas for having jobs available for my family pull out of poverty, and giving me a beautiful Mexican wife.

My wife and I moved up here to NYC (the borough of Brooklyn) in 2005. NYC is nice at times, and tough at times. After I'm done retraining and receiving my education in economics/finance, we will move wherever I can land the best job, which ironically, will most likely be right here in NYC....(though I will be looking a bit more closely at the D.C. area).

I ran into that picture a couple of times on ultimate frisbee sites, and I decided I wanted it...I don't know how the frisbee scene will be where I will be, its looks like the place where I'm going to be there are going to be a lot of foreigners, and I've found a critical mass of frisbee players in more out-of-the-way places. Otherwise I may have to pick up soccer.

Now, John, please don't pick on soccer. I've coached and played baseball, football, and most other traditional American sports, and have come to appreciate soccer as more fun to watch, and more fun to play. While the high school where I coached soccer had a great football program, and played for the State title several times, I sent more of my athletes to college on athletic scholarships than football did.

As for me, you know I migrated out to Las Vegas. Wigs, you might think twice about the best place for your type of jobs. In Michigan, the lot where construction cranes and towers are leased has cobwebs on the padlock. In Vegas, there are cranes and towers all over the place, and jobs galore.

For a glimpse of the kind of project going up in Vegas, check out this little casino that is being bid. Or see the company website that I am building for our company.
