What part STD? If you say Rochester like Anon 'small world' comments will ensue. Maybe we need to re-think Milgram's 6 degrees of separation.

Yes, I am from Rochester... What part did you live in?

Eastern part, near the Penfield area, if your familiar with the vicinity.

Since you have not studied the history of brewing, or actually brewed your own, then you do not have a good reference point. Spirits are nice, but excellent beers are the top of the heap for me. I am partial to good Austrain lagars, and Czech pilsners.

What I meant was if you are so close, get together sometimes, share a few drinks, and tell a bunch of lies. Wink1

My father actually brews his own beverages, some pretty unholy odors came wafting from our home. Never got a taste for it though

I know some slutty girls from high school and they definitely love beer.

When not travelling to remote parts of the world as a geological consultant to the exploration and mining industry I live in Songkhla province southern Thailand, with my wife and two daughters. I left home, a small country in western Europe, almost thirty years ago.

The East German army training had a pretty bad reputation, lots of folks traumatised from it. There is that film about it, can't remember the name ...

I am from former West Germany myself, North-Rhine Westfalia.
Studied and lived in the UK for 12 years, various travels, 2 years in Manila and now almost 9 years in Thailand with my Thai girlfriend and her daughter.

I speak German, pretty good English, basic Tagalog and an increasing amount of Thai and the local dialect where I live - can't read or write Thai script, though. Oh, and I learned French and Latin at school, almost all forgotten now.
Thai is certainly the most difficult language I have attempted to learn, but there is no way around it, since very few Thais outside the tourist centers speak English.

Well, a picture thread about members' place of residence could be an interesting thing, a welcome break from argueing and disagreeing. S1
I've got loads of pics from Bangkok and Nan province.

Poor stroll. S7 Why, being not religious, do you load onto yourself such martyrdom by living amongst Thais only? And increase the torture by learning the language? Anybody there you can discuss stuff with, on, say, the same level this forum offers? I doubt it. Wink1

You are right, I cannot have the same sort of exchanges with my neighbours, hence my presence on various forums.
Apart from that, I feel pretty good here, it's a very different life from being a sexpat in Pattaya, of course. Each to their own, I'd say.

there seem to be lots of globe-trotters round here...
I support stroll's proposition, show some pictures!

I speak German, Italian, English and French. I understand some Dutch. Planning to learn Spanish, maybe Arab (want to become a good dhimmi)
