Big Tent People! They are the ones that insist that the group will not survive unless we include those people that do not hold the same tenets. Lord Deben would have openly gay priests and open bars at alcoholics anonymous meetings.

The GOP leadership are tired old Big Tent People that think that if they pass bad legislation as long as it is under the GOP banner that somehow makes it OK. It does not and that is why I want the incumbents out. Burn the Big Tents, man the barricades and beat the drums.

One of those EU people or in other circles one that is enamored with all things European sometimes mistakenly believing there are Europeans and not Frenchmen, Germans, Swiss, Swedes, etc.

I was referring to one that has an affinity with the EU and is appalled by the eventual breakup and disbandment of Brussels Rule.

Oh, you were being facetious, and talking in opposites. I didn't see any smilies so I assumed you had your 'serious' hat on. Sorry.

I was serious, I think there are EU sympathizers among us. The silly smily with the tape across its mouth was looking up so I clarified that it was not you. As I am still working with out a playbill and trying to get everyone's names right along with their alignments I did not want to name names. Hey, yesterday it occurred to me that two prominent posters might be related. I'm still getting acclimated here. Don't worry I am not always this shy and reserved. S5

It looks like UKip is set to take the lion's share of the upcoming European Parliament voting this time around, in spite of everything.

My kinda guy. He cut his teeth on the great Liberal, John Stewart Mill. And he's a Free Trader too.

"I hate big government. I can't stand being told what to do. Speed cameras everywhere....................." If you aren't a Big Government Statist, or a Collectivist, you can't help but love him. And its really a damned shame we don't have someone here, like they do "Over There".

I just LOVE This guy!!

OH, and one other thing, which I deeply respect and admire. He has guts, moxie, chutzpah, Courage of Convictions, or whatever you want to call it: something totally lacking in the Republican Party. My thinking: "If you ain't got guts, you aint Shit! And you ain't worth the pot you piss in either." That's why I so totally despise the DOP, for the worthless drones they are.

Nick Clegg vs Nigel Farage, Europe debate 1 (26Mar14)

LBC radio in London hosts the first of two debates on Europe between Liberal Democrat deputy PM Nick Clegg, and UKIP leader Nigel Farage. Nick Clegg badly loses the debate, trying his tactic of staring into the camera when he knows he's losing, and using "facts" like the NHS needs immigrants or it will collapse - a classic line Labour use to justify Open Borders immigration.

Nick Clegg vs Nigel Farage, Europe debate 2 (02Apr14)

The second debate between LibDem deputy PM Nick Clegg versus UKIP's Nigel Farage. A debate the public polled says Nick Clegg badly lost, even worse than the first debate.

Tonight’s Clegg Farage debate on Britain’s membership of the EU was far more combative than last week’s. Nick Clegg came out swinging from the start. In a sign of how much Ukip have changed politics, it was Clegg who was behaving like the challenger and Farage the incumbent. But despite this change in tactics from Clegg, the result—according to the instant post-debate polls—was the same: a clear Farage win. Indeed, the polls had Farage ahead by an even bigger margin than last week.

The Liberal Democrats argue that these debates were not about Clegg ‘winning’, but of him enthusing the Liberal Democrat base and appealing to pro-European voters. I suspect that his blanket denunciations of ‘people like Nigel Farage’ and attacks on Ukip for wanting to go back to the days when WG Grace opened the batting for England did that. But I suspect, and the polls suggest, that this approach turned off other voters.

Farage rode Clegg’s punches well and kept positioning himself as the anti-establishment figure ranged against the political class and big business. This culminated in his closing appeal to join the ‘people’s army’ to topple the pro-EU establishment. These debates have given Ukip real momentum going into the European Elections. It was striking tonight how much Farage was pitching to the working class vote, on both immigration and green energy he emphasised how the real losers from these policy were low income voters. Farage knows that these voters hold the key to Ukip topping the poll in May.

A strong Ukip performance in the European Elections would send the Tory party into a frenzy. But the consolation for David Cameron from tonight’s debate was how Clegg seems to be accepting more and more of his renegotiation agenda. Indeed, Clegg was positively boasting about how the government had tightened up the benefit rules for EU migrants. It all left me thinking that Cameron’s pledge of an EU renegotiation is not as much of an obstacle to a second coalition with Clegg as Westminster thinks that it is.

Going back to this video, at 29:25, a comment made refers to the real reason why political/economic systems always get Buggered up. "Politicians always say, its not like running your own household. And look where we are today." Its the Keynesian Superstition, found everywhere one turns. And it is that same superstition that is strangling and destroying the very system it is supposed to be supporting.

I'm still winding my way through this video, and I really do love the way the interviewer is presenting everything. Anyone watching this video, with the exception of all The Buzzes of this world, would stand in line, in the rain, just to vote the buggers out.

No wonder Nigel is so popular. Again, why can't we find some like Nigel over here, who are absolutely fearless. They can win any time they choose if they keep to the facts and the Straight-and-Narrow. Common Sense 101, from what I can see.

If you will simply take some time and scroll above your post, you will find both of those debates. Paul was kind enough to post them there, just for you Michael. S13

And he's absolutely correct on this. So, why can't politicians see this? I'm sure there are a host of reasons, such as collectivist ideology, statism, power, money, influence, etc, etc. But the only thing this does is create the very problem they think they are going to eliminate, by creating an all powerful State to handle all this.

Wrong! The way to eliminate the problem is to realize that tribalism/nationalism is as alive today than it was yesterday. And perhaps it is even more so. I'll say this once more, beating the tired phrase, "As we act globally, we tend to think locally/tribally". What part about all this don't these Statists understand? We demand our own uniqueness, our own currency, our own identity, our own sovereignty, and not become a cog in a huge wheel. Its that simple, and the total amount of bloodshed this century is going to prove to be the costliest. There will be more people killed in the 21st century than in the 20th, and all over ethnic tribalism/nationalism.

It will be spread out over the century, and not look like the bloodiest century, but it will be. And Farage is absolutely correct in his vehement opposition to a European State. Right on Nigel! Now, why can't we have some Real Nigels over here in the USofA?

Oh, and your time is coming Russia, PRC, Indonesia, and perhaps USofA, although the later is the least likely. There are simply too many ethnic tribes in these gigantic states, and the longer all this land grabbing goes on, the harder, and more bloody, this is all going to shake out. Mark my words.
