iWatch

Beside slow apps, low battery life, I think the thing is useless for a very simple reason: It can't work without an iPhone in your pocket!

Why would you want to strap something around your wrist if the gear that does the whole thing is already with you? Why carry two things instead of one for the same functions, except that the watch takes your heart beat (fiitness app) and, how useful, let you send your hearthbeat to another iWatch user. Basicaly it's an interface between your right hand and your mobile phone... which is never far off your right hand already. It can be easier to answer a phonecall (or to dismiss one) but for anything else, like finding a phone number, texting or using apps, it's clear that you will pull your smarphone out and not use a tiny touch screen the size of a postal stamp.

The watch $350 + the iPhone $600 will cost you nearly $1000. Ok, only $350 if you already own an iPhone...

Apple's fans pre-ordered and queued for being among the firsts testing it 9but not taking it home yet).

And some poeple are already making money with this:
Reuters Wrote:The watch goes on sale officially on April 24, online and through appointments in shops, including trendy fashion boutiques in Paris, London and Tokyo, part of Apple's strategy of positioning the wearable computer as a must-have accessory.

But soon after online preorders opened on Friday, Apple's website listed shipping times in June for some models of the watch and four to six weeks for others.

There was immediately brisk bidding on eBay for confirmed orders for watches, with hundreds of sellers looking to make a few hundred or even thousand dollars by passing on their watches, once received.

The lowest-priced Sport model on eBay was $470, a markup of more than $100. A top-of-the-line gold Apple Watch Edition was listed for $20,000 on Ebay, $3,000 more than its official price.

I tell you all these fans are losing their money. This thing will be impracticable for what I have read. But for these poeple it doesn't matter. What they want is to have it, and have it because it's Apple and because it's new and because they want to show off.

Dick Tracy strikes again. He deserves to be left in the dustbin of history. We have better devices now. We even have cops carrying video cameras on their shoulders. The Dick Tracy cartoonist never thought of that!

Regardless what America's 'so called' Truth Detector may say, Apple does not excite me. I have never owned anything 'Apple', don't intend to, and will lose no sleep over it.

I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, or Bill Gates, either. I keep threatening to go full speed with Linux, but am still lazy about it. I have no excuse for that. Gah

I'm no fan of anything neither. Fan of making some billionaire even more biliionaire? No thanks!
My 12 years old daughter needs a new smartphone which costs at least 150 euros. She broke her smartphone and tablet in the space of the last six months, and now she has to use an old one and she looks reidiculous with her classmates, you understand...
I told her, i'll buy you this Caterpilar phone for 60 euros, this will never break. All these ultra thin wide screens have no solidity... No she doesn't want it.
